This is almost as good as his tweet about the players code 😂😂😂😂

The more I think about it, the more I realise we're going to standing tackles. You simply won't be able to tackle to ground. It's the only solution left. Weather it's a rule, or the players/coaches just adopt it, I just can't see a way around it.

It's going to be a big change to the game, but supporters will have to get used to it the way they got use to 50m penalties.

p.s. what was fk he thinking taking on Harley Reid with a limp half-arse (please) don't argue?

You can tackle but you need to be clean about it.
Reminds of the NN tackle on a smaller player where he wanted to inflict hurt.
Harley went the sling, end of story, he could have tackled without the lift.
How can you argue with a club that says that Brayshaw dropped down and Gaff
meant to hit him in the chest?
Obviously he has weak gums and the force was negligible😜

He was doing what he is entitled to do, evade a tackle. A tackle he would consider as being legal. But it was far from that. Once you lift your opponent, then you are in strife.
It appears that the well being of a player is not a worry, but the loss of an award is.
Since 1993 and the RS award beginings, three players have been banned from winning, McKernan, ,Toby Green and Dusty Martin. There was no out cry, other than the McKernan one about their inability to win the award.
John Ralph has suggested that by his act, Reid will miss out on about $45 grand. A massive penalty, but thems the consequences of not playing accoring to the rules of head injury .

It's interesting that there is no comment in the media on the amount of dissent that Reid showed towards the umpires during the game. He gave them a mouthful several times including pointing his finger at them at one stage. The umpires don't take kindly to this kind of behaviour.

It would be in his own interest to pull his head in.
Gone are the days of Dean Cox umpiring the umpires 😁

Standing tackles will be fine if the "new" htb interpretation sticks.
No defensible reason to drive player to the ground with force if the well executed tackle is rewarded as an action.
Ball up if no prior is a reward too.
As for the perennial debate around fairest and best...its as old as the game!
Who is worthy of the highest accolade?
For many of us sporting achievements are necessary but not sufficient, fairness matters.
The fullest admiration is reserved for the fairest and best.
The Rising Star is the beginners Brownlow and it should be judged by the same standards.

Did you consider the tackle fair or not?.
I thought he went overboard, maybe through frustration of being tagged, which is probably hd has never had to encounter before.

imagine working in footy media the last few years and being upset that's a suspension

Players will just fall over prior to being tackled or whilst being tackled.

How are they gonna call who's fault that is?

Warner still not extended beyond 2025, which is interesting. Haywood knocked back returning to South Australia PLUS Carlton's 6 year offer (I think it was?). So it must be very good coin
