The sooner Tigers are out of the picture the better from my pov. They are a real threat. Any team with recent finals success and know-how.

They're playing good footy and finding form, but they're not the same force they were, and we're a much better, well rounded unit. Of course anything can happen but I'd be quite confident beating the tigers in a final this year.

I think Melbourne win that, but it would be an almighty scare for them. Not to mention the hostility from the Tiggies faithful who would outnumber the Demons fans.
Yeah, I think Melbourne would get over the line too... but it'd be fun to hear other team's fans bitching about something we deal with more times than not!

Sure, they get over the line but it feels like the Dees are ripe for the picking.

(Yes, I know "respect the premier" and all that but they've barely beaten a team that won't be top 8 by the end of next week.)

To me they're starting to feel like a budget version of the Hawks in 2016.

You still have a degree of fear of what they're capable of because you've seen it in the past, but if you strip that all back and just look at the season at hand they're not that good.

Maybe they flick the switch but I'm losing confidence in them every week after having them as a monty for the flag just a few weeks back. They have glaring issues that at our best we can expose greatly.

We all know by now that it’s very hard to flick the switch before the finals , they may had found some momentum from last night but it’s too hard to judge from the season they have had so far

Yeah, that's not a mistake I see our team make too often. There were a few moments where they really messed up icing the clock.
That said, I still do see Melbourne as a massive threat. Wins like that can really start to spark belief.
Gawn said that they've been playing finals since their game against us. The finals series this year is going to be a good test of what holds teams in better stead: the luxury of getting your star players the right physical preparation or the toughness of playing crunch matches with your best team available.
Actually I had another look and saad didn‘t kick it into the middle- my apologies to him-losing my marbles.
Yep the dees can still win the flag but I just think we have improved so much that we are better than them now, better than everyone really. If we play our best footy, and we will, we will beat all comers. The sort of turnarounds we saw in 2 games ? against Melbourne last year, we are not that team anymore.

Surprised people here are writing off the dees. They have been battling the past month or two, but battle-hardened teams are the one's that usually find a way when it counts.
Hate to say it, but they may have just had their Nick Davis moment on the way to another flag.
I'm not writing them off, but the difference between last year and this year is pretty obvious. Last year they were unbeatable at this stage of the season. This year, sides have figured out the Dee's weaknesses and have adjusted gameplans accordingly. That's what happens. Melbourne is beatable in 2022, even if they are playing well during the game. They still have a good chance of winning the flag because they're a good team. But I don't think they are the best team at this point (like they were last season). Geelong & Sydney are ahead of them, IMO. But anything can happen in finals.

Sydney/Coll

Melb/Bris

Freo/Rich

Carlton or whoever takes 8th

I still don't rate Collingwood for the finals yet because their percentage indicates an average forward line, and when the super defensive games of the finals begin I just can't see them kicking a winning score. But, if they somehow beat Sydney today, I'd probably reconsider that.

The two teams that worry me are Freo and Melbourne. They're the best defensive sides this year. If they're switched on, it's going to be hard to break them down.
