Richmond definitely still the team to beat IMO, they will be super hard to beat particularly if they get most of their stars back for finals, who the hell in the competition can match it with Dustin Martin when he goes forward... nobody by the look of it.

In terms of us I think we will be super fired up to prove ourselves against who is arguably still the bench mark, when in form, especially after going down twice late last season to them.
If we can somehow draw and replicate from our performances against Port & GWS, we'll be a genuine chance.

For those who haven't been reading it the weekly piece from the ABC on football stats/analysis is always worth a read. Todays offering is how screwed Hawthorn are list wise:

That have been fantastic articles. A significant improvement on the usual crap. The one a few weeks ago about the tv presentation was especially good

It was in 2018 I think when the some writers who wrote their own afl statistic blogs did some articles for ABC, seems they've stayed on and its worked out really well I reckon.

I'm fascinated how Hawthorn will go for the next 5 years. Interesting to see how they work through it.

Clarkson could step aside as director for the next 2 years and let Sam Mitchell commence rebuild. This would be better for all. Otherwise Sam will be handed down a half rebuild of Clarkson which he may or may not like, could cause more problems.

Has Petracca done anything?

Looks to be one of the few actually attempting to lift his side.

Dees not helping themselves, but the umps are missing lot of holds their way.

Yeahhh this bodes really badly for our 4 day turnaround before the Richmond game...

Melbourne's disposal by foot is diabolical.

I suppose fatigue comes into it but I would hope that even om a 4 day turnaround, our skills won't derteriorate that badly.

Guess we'll see in due course.
