The dogs actually have the right age profile/experience to be a real threat if they're good enoughThe dogs' trait of conceding first possession but winning the clearance anyway already on show.
Absolutely correct call. You ARE allowed to block in a ruck contest but if you do so you MUST come back to the ball. The Hawthorn ruck failed to do so, the free kick was absolutely there and more embarrassing commentators who do not understand the rules of the game as they are currently written and applied. What a total BS free straight in front of goal.
Terrible decision.
Don't agree at all. They both bodied each other. Weren't they the 2 contesting the ball up ? It wasn't the other 2 to the left was it ?Absolutely correct call. They were the two contesting the ruck, yes. From the down the ground angle it looked like Meek blocked English's run at the ball. He's allowed to do that, but if he does so he must get to the ball before it hits the ground. Otherwise it's considered unrealistic body work. Similar rules apply in marking contests.Don't agree at all. They both bodied each other. Weren't they the 2 contesting the ball up ? It wasn't the other 2 to the left was it ?
But it wasn't a full block. He was just there. Like there was barely nothing in it at all. They were the two contesting the ruck, yes. That's right. That rule was paid against the Big O a few years back against the dogs in the semi. It was a free then and is a free today.Absolutely correct call. I actually think Hawthorn would be reasonably happy with this start. They've certainly had their moments. If the game opens up later on as a bit of fatigue sets in it may work to the advantage of their small forwards.Haven’t seen Hawks play much but they look a bit overawed tonight .
Dogs should win easily .

The media’s infatuation with “Hollywood” Hawks and how they supposedly do things “differently” off and on field and the literal barracking for everything they do makes me want to vomit. Hopefully they get taken down a peg or ten in the coming weeks and years. It’s also so typical of the VFL media. All this talk about "Hok-ball" in the last 2 weeks. It is absolutely primed to see Hawthorn get a bit ahead of themselves and cop a belting here tonight.
Hopefully it doesn't happen cos there ain't much else on telly
I don't listen to the media much but they're playing like they don't give a toss about consequences. The media’s infatuation with “Hollywood” Hawks and how they supposedly do things “differently” off and on field and the literal barracking for everything they do makes me want to vomit. Na.That could have been gunners tomorrow night
