I know it's not a popular position, but I've lost some enthusiasm for Bob Murphy. I think it was watching 'the chosen ones'. I really liked him at first, but I feel as though somebody told him what worked about his persona and now he's turned into a caricature of himself. It's the Gordon Ramsey effect: "hey mate, we think it's terrific when you swear! Great for ratings!!"

He's certainly a bright guy, but I feel like he runs through the same old cliches in better organised sentences.

The flipside of that documentary was that I warmed to Nick Riewoldt and especially to Pavlich. They seemed equally insightful and a bit less calculated from my perspective.

Know what you mean. All players will only go so far in what they say to the media, some are ultra conservative and some know where the boundaries are. I just find Bob gives you more considered opinions on issues/footy compared with your average player.

Hi there fellow Lions family,
We are the Leeside Lions AFL club based in Cork in Southern Ireland. In our foundation back in 2001 we had an affiliation with the Brisbane Lions and based our first guernsey on the Lions jumper at the time.

We play in the Austrailain Rules League of Ireland with 4 other teams in what is a very competitive league. We're trying to grow the recognition of our club, of which some players have played in (and won) in the MCG in the International Cup representing the Irish Warriors.

The number of Irish players in OZ at the moment is really making the game interesting to new players and none more so than Pierce Hanley - a Lion through and through! We would appreciate the support from our fellow Lions in the form of likes on our page as we grow the game globally.

Heres to a great season for the Lions in both the Northern & Southern Hemisphere

COLLINGWOOD president Eddie McGuire has suggested the introduction of an Adam Goodes Medal, to be awarded to the player adjudged best afield as part of an annual mid-year blockbuster between the Swans and Magpies at the SCG.

I like the idea of an Adam Goodes medal for the best player in a Swans-Pies game, but I'd hope that McGuire made an effort to contact Goodes to float the idea before putting it out there publicly.

We can probably assume that he did not in fact do that.

So now Goodes is in the awkward position of having to accept that this might go ahead, and a player from the club whose president and fans have treated him pretty poorly - whether or not you want to use the R word - might get an award with his name on it, or to publicly denounce it and be seen as further escalating the tension between himself and the Pies.

He might be cool with it. Hopefully Eddie checked. Eddie probably didn't check.

"This sensitivity to indigenous people fad is really growing legs. How can we monetise it for Collingwood's benefit?"

Collingwood have already made their contribution to the cause when an ugly contingent of their fan base gave Nicky Winmar the opportunity to make an incredibly powerful and iconic statement.

And Damian Monkhorst sledging Michael Long triggered the AFL's racial vilification policy.

As long as they [Aborigines] conduct themselves like white people, well, off the field, everyone will admire and respect them

Is there any connection between Goodes and Collingwood (apart from the obvious issues) though that would warrant such a medal between these two teams?

They took Chris Tarrant and James Wasley before him in 1997?

Goodes shared a Brownlow with Buckley (and Ricciuto) in 2003?

But nah, jokes, it's really all about racist fans and Eddie.

Cotchin is so fricken overrated as a player and as a leader.
Murphy cops a lot of flack, so should Cotchin.

Good start by the Blues, will be interesting to see if they continue or drop away.
