Play Nice North Melbourne - 2018 and beyond

Its SFA members and tending downwards at an alarming rate. Next two years especially is going to be hard work- less members and north fans don't go when there's no chance of playing finals which is why getting a dusty or kelly would have really helped. Alas.

SFA? It's only really the starved of success clubs with hoards of unwashed that think like that. 40 thousand members is a shitload and it would never get under 30 thousand no matter how many years of mismanagement.

essendon - $10m loss. end of.

And is that likely to happen this year and any time into the future? No. Essendon are infinitely more profitable. You are nitpicking one moment where North made finals and Essendon had all their players suspended, not to mention paying for the state of the art facilities, a fee North are not paying. How convenient that you ignore every other season and focus on the lone one that suits your argument. Open your eyes.

Dunno about that, dropped 5k just from last year. If its a 10 year list build like buckenara reckons north must land Kelly in two years to keep the interest/relevance up

Even carrying the failed coach into next year, the list is strong enough to compete.

Buckenara seemed to be lumping the coaching/development despair onto the list. Or he knows Brad Scott and like others, sets up excuses for him.

With players like Gibson, Swallow, Thomas and Hansen gone, the premiership potential of the list has actually improved.

Yes there's Anderson, Waite, Daw, Goldstein and almost the whole football department still there, but if they did the right thing and sacked Scott, this list could easily build to contention in 2-3 years.

We've already seen that relocating smaller Victorian clubs interstate doesn't work. Surely its time for the afl to try it with one of the larger ones. We've recently seen Hawthorn and Essendon move out of town without significantly damaging their brand. Would it really be that different if, say, the pies (who no longer have any connection to Collingwood) were to move south?

They do? I think you might be confusing Caro's position as AFL urinal with her North hatred. The AFL need the Tas government to Pony up and Caro merely tries to bring stronger clubs down to Richmond's level.
What are you talking about when you say bringing stronger clubs to Richmonds level, surely you dont think North is in a better situation than Richmond either on or off the field you couldnt be that stupid?

As for your Caro obsession take it to the 4th estate board.

North will comeback as they always do. Proud footy club. The push for them to go to tassie is very silly, very few will jump on board. Tassie need there own side, a club should be formed as soon as possible. Use lower level comps, women team, tac cup, form a club strong enough the profits league can't say no too.

Unless the Pies are looking for more room for their facilities, what's the point?

Apart from the success of the swans and the lions three-peat I guess you have some sort of a point

But that is for a tunnel and station and housing developements not for the football team, the envisioned 27000 extra residents are not all just going to start supporting North?

The football club has hopes to eventually expand but the lost dogs home have no plans to move in the next 30 . 40 years, these are just proposals, although you did get approval for a slab to be extended, hardly the 7b you're talking about.

The Swans were at their lowest ebb a decade after relocating, and Brisbane won 15 games total and a spoon in the two seasons after the merger. Take out 2001-2004, and the Brisbane Lions have been Richmond 2002-2016 levels of ordinary.

The chief football writer of the crippled age is a known North hater and major spruiker of Tasmania gaining a license.

Fat prick hutchy is one of her filthy minions who also uses her playbook of vendetta.

Make no mistake, for every cause that witch Caro partakes in, most are purely selfish and related to following a big but weak club.

Enjoy your 5 minutes but don't pretend you are a successful club. Just yet anyway.

Yeah, you need to brush up on your own clubs history before you bother with North.

The Adelaide Crows F.C. licence fee share of $200,000 was the crucial last minute financial input that saved Richmond from extinction. The "save our skins" campaign was a failure and the Richmond supporters failed to save their club.

If not for the Crows, Richmond would now be a footnote in history alongside University F.C.. I'm not trolling, this is a fact.

I lived through SOS and my wife and I rattled tins to raise the money that saved our club, I can't recall anything of what you are claiming and a search of google returns a load of links about our flag win and nothing about 200k from Adelaide.
This link also fails to mention anything other than we raised 1 million in 8 weeks I still remember the graph in the paper and when we hit the target.

Not even sure of your point, we are here we are one of the biggest and most finacial clubs in the comp and reigning premiers as well so will likely grow further.

There is no way that North relocate. We have been innovators for many years, first team to have a major sponsor, pioneers of Friday night footy, Good Friday game etc, etc
We may be a small club in terms of numbers, however we’re a MELBOURNE BASED CLUB HERE TO STAY.
We’re a proud club as well, so those morons expecting (more like hoping) for us to stay down for ages, good luck with that.

Even when the Pies are rubbish they keep the turnstiles clicking. If North have a few real lean years they might need to give Kochie a call and see if Port have those tarps in storage still.
You are making my argument for me.
Relocating Essendon or Collingwood would have a greater chance of success because of their greater backing.
If the afl wants to grow the game this would be a much better option.

Big difference is the Collingwood are the biggest Victorian club with over 75k members and with only finishing 2 places above north on the ladder in 2017 drew over 1 million fans through the gates
With numbers like those, how could they fail to succeed in tassie.

Will never happen. The afl want a successful Collingwood like in 2010-11 averaging 65k at the mcg for their 14 games.

If Collingwood can draw 1 million when 13th they will easily draw 1.2 million like they did from 2007 to 2013 every year including a record 1.3 million in 2010 when making finals

The afl will lose a lot of money if we play most games in tassie. When winning Collingwood draw between 40-60,000 of their own fans even against interstate sides great example 63,000 v West Coast in 2012 at the mcg
They'd have higher average vic attendances if they played fewer games in Melbourne. Tv numbers would be greater too - which is where the real money is.
When you think about it, the sooner Collingwood are relocated the better.

The AFL couldn’t afford one of us going down there. As long as we keep laying the golden eggs we will be looked after. Etihad would have to close the doors if we didn’t play there, why do you think we get such a good deal there?
