I’m not that sure that it is only Richmond. But Richmond need to be also careful with their demands too……I’m sure that Hartley doesn’t deal with other clubs like supporters do on here, there was a rumour the other days that Blair was trying to facilitate deals that would make North happy. Don’t know what those deals were but he could be trying to position us where we need to be. We could have said we want Tauru and Armstrong with the possibility of Trainor or Gerryn, for example. Joe Berry could be on our wish list. And we’ve apparently spent a fair bit of time with Xavier Lindsay.
The beauty for others, like us, is that you do hold a lot of picks, so we could’ve mapped out a plan together. Who knows.
I just don’t believe Hartley is sitting there saying to Brady, “we’ve got ya mate, you are faarked! Take it or leave it!” Just not how this stuff works.

I'm sure nobody is telling anyone they're "farked". They all know they have to work with each other for years to come and so they'll be professional about it.

More like North comes to him with an offer of pick 2 for 6 & 10, and he tells them he's open to trading for 2, but they're not even close. North knew that was pushing it, so counter with something like 2 & F2 for 6 & 10 and Hartley just smiles and says 'no thanks', maybe with a counter offer that is, realistically, just a negotiating position that'll never happen (say, 2 & F1 for 10 & 11), or more likely just lays some ground rules for what Richmond might consider (maybe 6 is off the table, or if 6 is in play, 10&11 aren't...who knows).

North walks away (OK, they hang up the phone) and discuss between themselves what options they have with other clubs, and what other offers they're willing to consider and if they can work with the ground rules as laid out.
Meanwhile, Richmond goes back to working out their draft priorities/preferences with the picks they currently hold....maybe they'll decide they really want to trade up, but I wouldn't bet on it (and even if they do, it mightn't be to 2).

Personally, I doubt a deal will be made. In such an even draft, the difference between 2 & 5/6/7 in this draft (depending on who they try and trade with) just isn't worth the kind of extra pick(s) North are likely to require, especially if Nth want a 2nd 1st round pick this year as seems to be the goal for them.

I think that would depend on when the offer is. Now, something in top 10. On the night if one of our desired/dream blokes is there, it could be anything. Brady’s movements with the list looks like we want to walk away with 3 players on the night, maybe 4.
What do you think North’s F1 is worth?

I don’t mind it being used in a combo, 6+10+11 for example, but I think it’s gunna be an insane pick next year that we will be spewing about if we let it go. So def hold.

I’d swap it for pick 4 of course. Or 5 or 6, but that’s it.

I agree with you that it’s potentially fraught with danger trading your F1, no doubt at all. But if your club really wants into the early part of this years draft, you may need to trade it. If it was my club, I’d be reluctant to do it, but depends how they rate this draft and ability to use it to fill areas of weakness on your list.
Tough decision for sure, with your second pick at 62, but don’t think there’s any way Richmond would trade what you’ve suggested, even for 2 & F1. Tricky situation but I’d likely keep 2 and the F1 unless you can get something really good for both like you’ve suggested.

Hmmm. thought that was pretty clear. Maybe not.

It's the only way I see being happy with combing 2 and F1.

well considering according to the the herald sun, nth where "open" to trading 2+F1 for 6+11, not sure how you will end up with Pick 10 thrown in as well?

Also especially seeing Dylan Alexanders video, he suggests Essendon will offer 2, F1 for 10 alone.

So IMHO you need to temper your expectations.

But you are right, noone knows anything officially, lets see what happens
