Coming in here to say just that.

Gatt is an elite winger that always provides and outlet and a contest. Energizer bunny bouncing from contest to contest then gets on the outside and a key part of us getting the footy out over the back of a press
Don’t know about elite winger quite yet, but at 19 she’s well above expectations and earns her spot on merit, and as much as I loved Kashy, letting her go to get games into Tay Tay was absolutely the right call.

just immediately watching a replay, cause f*ck yea im gunna

god it's all the more satisfying with the commentary at half time:

"can north keep this going? melbourne are just sooooo fit, we know how good melbourne are late in games, some stat of melbourne kicking a billion goals to 3 in last quarters this year"

Okay so now do a shot of a game played at Kardinia Park. They have clearly isolated the crowd to the broadcast wing. Just as they do in Geelong.

We have a lopsided and problematic fixture due to limited rounds of football in AFLW and that will only change with crowds increasing. The game really doesn't need constant attacks over crowd sizes even if they are attempts at humour.
They really rattle around even in modest afl stadia, to be fair. 3,000 at Arden st is great fun, and the same crowd in Geelong or marvel or even princes park is horrible for atmosphere.

Every girl laid at least 2 tackles today, but it started in the engine room, Garner, Rennie, Mia King and Bruton just didn't let the Dees mids off the hook all game.

Garner with 12 and yet not a word of her defensive application all day. Tackled her way out of the tag!

Alistair Nicholson is pretty pro North and Abbey Holmes is usually quite fair so I reckon that might have been a directive from the studio to keep viewers watching.

Surprised to hear anyone shitting on Tess Craven. Thought she was really, really important and a large part of why were able able to get on top early. Those spoils on the wing denied Melbourne their usual easy running F50 entries and left them rattled. Contributed well around the ground too
Agree, not many disposals but worked and chased hard, good spoils in marking contests and worked back as an outlet option a few time.

We shut down their switch and smacked in so hard they couldn’t generate any overlap run through their handball release.

Huge tick for Crocker and the whole team.

Defence wins premierships, in any team ball sport.
All credit has to go to Croc and the girls, that we never seem to lose our defensive shape. Even on the fast break.
The amount of intercept marks the girls take is testament to that, everyone knows where they need to be.

Something for Clarko to instill in the blokes, defence is about system and work rate as much as personal.

I am so, so happy. We stopped for dinner in Sydney Rd after the game and just home and about to watch the replay now. I can’t quite believe it.

I listened to ABC after the game and all I heard was Brisbane is the best team. We have just demolished last year's premiers. How about we focus on North??? FFS !!!
Was listening to the radio on the way into the game (think it was the ABC, but it might have been SEN).

It was 3/4 time in the Geelong/essington game, and as Geelong were comfortably ahead, they started talking about the next week of finals for them.
The conversation was how Geelong would have a chip on their shoulder, as we had knocked them out of the finals last year.

So, suck on that result you biased pack of know-nothing imbecilic hacks.

I was listening to 1026 and it was similar, they asked their expert as the game was effectively over and she said that basically Melbourne would walk it in. 🤣

Absolutely incredible win - picked the perfect time to finally unshackle ourselves from the "can't-beat-the-big-three" yoke in the most emphatic manner possible. Whole team played phenomenally, especially in terms of sheer workrate and pressure, but in particular I thought Pullar played a great game for us today (and obviously Randall very much making her presence felt up forward). Through to a home prelim against a non-Victorian side, with that kind of belief and energy around the group? Suddenly we're a much more credible contender than we looked 24 hours ago. Excellent performance.

This is good to read……I only watched the 2nd half and I had assumed she’d had a mare. Had a few efforts where was completely out of position in the last quarter.
