is it unrealistic to think Garner, Riddell, Kearney, Randall and Ferguson could/should all be in the side? Garner is an obvious one but Riddell is just as deserving. Randall is just obviously one of the best key forwards in the league, only became clearer after yesterday, and I think they'll sneak Kearney in on the bench just to keep her perfect attendance.

There is a tendency to want to spread the love with AA selections in AFLW so you are probably right, we won't see overwhelming representation even though there's a valid argument that a defence that has been as clearly dominant as ours could justifiably have 3 spots locked in.

Randall is no chance unless the selectors let finals performances sway their judgment, which they're not supposed to do.

Zanker, Toogood, Gould, and even Davidson (with one less game) all had better H&A seasons.

Garner is no walk up start either. A lot more gifted options for her AA spot.

I bet I know though who is the player that opposition players most fear when they see Tahlia bearing down on them.

She nearly (legally) murdered someone yesterday. The umpires invoked the mercy rule and didn't pay a holding the ball free to Tahlia.

I don't know what anyone else thinks, but since the AFL stopped fixturing games at Princes Park, in my opinion the place has gone downhill with the changes presumably made by the CFC.

The legends and now known as the Heroes stands remain in place, yet were/are pretty terrible places to watch from. I watched a lot of games there back in Fitzroy's time and the old Hawthorn Stand and in front of the Heroes stand, were two of the better places to view games. Now the Hawthorn stand has gone and the best part of in front of the heroes stand has been ruined by changes to the location of the interchange areas. Carlton seems to like building structures that block viewing parts of the ground. Idiots.

The Legends stand is a shocker. It seems such a long way from the action and maybe I've got it wrong but yesterday it seemed that most of the first half was played on the other side of the ground. So I moved over at half time in front of the Heroes Stand, got a much better view of the game, though the girls did start playing a bit more in front of where the Hawthorn stand used to be.

It all happened a long time ago, but when Marvel was built, surely it was a terrible decisions by the AFL to stop fixturing games there. With the creation of the AFLW and hopefully the competition continuing to develop with longer seasons, that ground could have been the centrepiece of the competition. Now its just a mish mash of a viewing experience.

Carlton can do whatever they like with their training facility including blocking or excluding large parts of the stadium from spectator access to build administration and gym facilities but as soon as they decided to do that, they surely should have forfeited the right to be the default stadium for AFLW finals in Melbourne.

Well done to the recruiters who targeted and brought in Pullar, Shannon and Shierlaw (even if she and Emma had been pushing it for years), even Martin. They have made the side better.

edited to fix brain fade…

They probably can except that it is a leased facility (through to 2035) on Crown land, in which case they should surely be required to re-develop it in a manner where events can continue to be viewed from all sections of the venue. That is very clearly not the case.

Now I'm going to say something contentious. Yesterday's crowd was a little over 5000 and at least half of them were pompously, self satisfied godees supporters. It was a very disappointing number.

How about we all really get behind our girls and turn up in much greater numbers. They are proudly and passionately wearing our jumper and as they go into this PF in a fortnights time, they deserve to have as many of us as possible there, cheering them on.

They are playing for us, they are giving us a huge amount of value for our money and they deserve our greatest level of support. With a bit of luck and a whole heap of hard work, they might deliver to us our 5th Flag in VFL/AFL/AFLW history. How wonderful will that be?

The good Doctors big body and composure was so vital early doors, she really set the tone.

Garner will definitely be in it, given she's the league's best player, which is something I've said for a long time.

Kinda like how you and a few others on here have been saying "this team has gone backwards under Crocker" for a long time.

I think Pullar and Shannon are our two best recruits this season, even ahead of Shierlaw who has been very good and played her best game for us yesterday. They are both courageous, solid and dependable and have fitted in seamlessly into Crock's defensive structure.

Let me understand this with the 1st week of the finals out of the way and North has become the highest ranked winner of the round shouldn’t North be entitled to a home preliminary final at Arden Street and a possible home Grand Final at Arden Street?

I meant Shannon! So good.

No. Finals venues were named for each qualified team pre finals and it will be at Princes Park if we win our prelim, which will also be held at Princes Park.

Reckon if Clarko went in for another hug on Emma she would have dropped him.
