Look the loss is not ideal, but there's definitely positives to take from the match.
We're a young team, and the trade off with playing guys like Atley, Cunnington, McMillan, Delaney, Speight and even Ziebell given the number of games he's played; is inconsistency. Last week Cunnington played a very solid game and Ziebell poor, and this week the reverse. Good pre-seasons under the like
The Swans are a more well-drilled and developed team, who've obviously got more gas in the legs, which showed in a match like this.
Give those blokes above a really solid pre-season, where if we (fingers crossed ) go back to Utah - can build upon a really solid base; and we'll run out those matches a lot better. We've had losses of 4pts, 8 pts, 13points and 1 point, all where we had significant control at some point in the game and got over-run.
The killer instinct is something that will develop over time.
Umpiring decisions and whatever aren't ideal and piss everyone off, but things happen. Blatant shit like last week is unacceptable, but I wouldn't be blaming this weeks loss on it.
The key definiciency in the team atm is clearly disposal skills, which is the obviously going to have to be the focus at the trade and draft table - combined with development by the football department. Execution of the game plan is my main concern as we've targeted blokes who clearly are not skillful.
