North Melbourne want to play in Perth

Thats not going to happen. Only Collingwood will win out of this. They have deep pockets and can afford to buy four premiership points, avoid travel, and give their fans 18 games in Melbourne.

edited for a comparison.

Timmaaaay, stop the embarassment. When you go to type something related to this, substitute West Coast with the word Collingwood and feel the irony slowly ease up through your hands to your brain.

Another mental midget. :(

The topic is home ground advantage. You cant have a home ground advantage when your opponent is from the same home town. Stop makling this about Collingwood, we have never purchased a game from an interstate club.

yer but not always. ur saying they r buying 4 pts.but the game hasnt been played yet. hell we dont even know if it will ever be played. so ur just making up crap. or do u have some mystical crystal ball where u know the outcome of everything in the future.

collingwood have the easiest draw in the AFL. and yes i know thats becoz other teams want to play them at the G. but dont you think that the amount of travel that the eagles and dockers do every week takes its toll. ever wondered why no1 at the eagles or dockers has made it to 300 games yet?

Strangely enough so are ours, so you get on Eddies corporate jet and do the extra *s******* travel.

So you have one Perth opponent and without fail play them twice a year. 100% of your possible neutral games

We have nine Melbourne opponents and play them 14 times out of a possible 18. Nowhere near 100%.

We should get 18 home games in Melbourne so we get the full quota of derbies that Freo and WC get. Or you should get your derbies cut back to one a year every season or three.

No, but you alternatively sook and bully to get the draw you want.

Anyway, they are OUR home games, we should be able to play them wherever we bloody want.

The Saints are awesome at the Dome. Surely we get no home ground advantage when we play them there - like last week - in our 'HOME' game?

Of course its not guaranteed but theres only one reason WC want to buy a game off you.

North in Melbourne, where finals are played.

You travel to Darwin and Canberra and Launceston, and have a "neutral" venue

ahahahahaha omg dude. so ur saying that the fact that the eagles and dockers travel every 2nd week isnt a hinderence on there performance?

then y is the line of "oh they r playin on the back of an interstate trip, they mite be tried" get trotted out weneva a melbourne team plays over here. yet not the other way around?

Crowd makes a big difference to even a neutral venue. If 35 000 Collingwood supporters got into Subi as against 5000 playing the Eagles, the ground wouldn't make much difference to the cauldron of fans.

Nope.

Besides, North cant get a decent crowd in Melbourne. We all know who will go to Subi to watch North v Eagles.

They're not very good? that must be it.

Couldn't be the travel...they should do more

yer those hacks like matera, heady, kemp jackovich and lewis just werent good enuff to make it to 300, couldnt have been the travel factor on their bodies could it:eek:

I have said before that I am not arguing that it would not be a distinct advantage to the Eagles. But you refuse to see that Collingwood live off this same advantage.

Your whole argument is that it is a gifted 4 points helping the Eagles to a premiership. If the Eagles lose your argument is crap. How about we agree to lose and just take the rest from travel. I think it would be worth it even for that.

People just do not get this.

Firstly, you can fudge with the fixture all you want, West Coast and Fremantle will always have the worst draw. I don't think I need to explain that to anyone unless they can't read an atlas.

Secondly, the fixture is a joke as is. West Coast playing one 13 games in Perth instead of 22 doesn't compromise the competition any more than Port Adelaide having to go to Darwin each year where the climate is significantly different to the norm, or West Coast having to go to Launceston every year, or Collingwood playing 15 games a year at the one ground etc. etc. The fixture is a contrived shambles, and will never be 'fair' until each team plays each other team home and away. The problem with the North vs West Coast fixture is that if is approved it guarantees North will play West Coast at home. Guarantees that a club will definitely play another club twice, or at home, are what damage the integrity of the fixture, not venues and geographical locations.

Thirdly, and let's just pretend there are 12 clubs and a legitimate draw is in place, North Melbourne are entitled to play 11 home games. How the hell is it anyone's business bar North Melbourne's where they choose to play these games? If North want to play bloody Richmond at Subiaco Oval then that's their prerogative. Richmond are entitled to play 11 home games too. If they want to play their return fixture with North at Lords, then good for them!

Agree with that, but you shouldnt get to choose your opponent.

C'mon now, you can choose where to play but not the opponent? That's where it crosses the line is it? I mean, that would be like choosing who to play and on what specific weekend it should happen! And a few times a year at that.

Good idea. I'd like to go the footy and either cheer for another team playing against WC or watch the game as a neutral.
It being a North Melbourne home game i'd expect they'd call the shots on seating. Their members would get first option on prime seating. Then 3,000 seats behind the goals at the Perth end for the opposition members then the rest of the seats would be available to the public.
Pretty sure North Melbourne would get plenty of support. To allow WC members to get all the seating options would be senseless.

It is a bit rich coming from a supporter of a club that has 50k members who is making $5m profit who is selling games and going to sell MORE games.

Studid comment! Just really dumb

You realise that we sell games to Tasmania?

You realise we win most of those games ?

You realise the Eagles have lost there last 16 away games ?

Yet you give up a certain win for at best a 20% chance of a win.

DO you see the difference or are you just an idiot?
