Second Semi Final.
Lower Plenty vs. Epping
The Bears, apart from one early season slip, have been the benchmark team all season and go into the game as warm premiership favourites. The Blues on the other hand had a bit of a stuttered start to the season but have certainly been playing good consistent football over the past few weeks. It's been a good twelve weeks since these two sides met and on the postage stamp that is at Lower Plenty the home side was able to keep the visitors at bay all day. Any old doubts about the Bears not being able to win on the big grounds has been dispelled this season and with a good spread of talls and quality onballers should be the first team into the grand final.

Hopfully we can knock Lower off this week and go straight into the big one,
With a full list to pick from there will be no excuse for not winning.
Go Pingers :thumbsu::thumbsu::thumbsu:

Hopefully your feral supporters will think twice about warning of GF encounters, when you have not made the big dance yet!

We lost a good game of footy on Saturday, bad kicking in the first 3 - 7 cost us. But we live on to play again this Sunday :thumbsu: Go Pingers :D:D:D

Bad kicking cost you! Would`nt be making an excuse would you? Will be interesting game between yourselves and Diamo. From all reports the ground was fairly hard, so will interesting to see how you guys back up. weather should be interesting to!

Its not an excuse its fact.
Diamo have hit form at the right time of the year and its going to be a hard game but so will the Granny the week after.
Dont know how hard the ground was but it looked shit. Rain for the rest of the week should take any hardness out off it and rain on Sunday wouldnt help either team I think
With the game being played on Sunday I hope the man above is on our side:D
Go Pingers

Probably one of the hardest game sduring the season to win as it's all or nothing.

Preliminary Final
Epping vs. Diamond Creek
It was a nick and tuck game between these two sides when they last met six weeks ago and one would expect a similar one again here with both naturally keen to get to the big dance. Although the Blues lost last week they certainly weren't disgraced and probably have been a bit more consistent over that period than the Demons. Hopefully the weather won't effect what should be a tense struggle.

Well this is it what we have all been waiting for.
As a club its been 21 years of wait, for some players its been a lifetime of wait and for a lucky one its been 12 months.
One thing for sure whatever happens tomorrow as a player,Coach or supporter you will never forget it, I can tell you now it is so much better to remember a win than it is a loss, so give it your all don't die wondering what if.
Best of Luck to all, Epplng by 14 points.

Might be better if you wait till it`s 22 or 23 years for your clubs sake!

Lower Plenty quickly established themselves as one of the premiership favourites early in the season, and apart from the one defeat have strengthened that opinion amongst followers as the season has worn on. Epping started out a bit shaky but once into flight after about a third of the season have gone from strength to strength. Both teams have used about the same numbers of players during the season, while at least one and possible one or two more of the Bears players having attracted the interest of GWS for next season. The Blues have been getting closer at each meeting between the two but the query is how they will come up for a third hard finals game. For me it's the Bears to take the flag and entry into the top division for 2012.

Well done to Chet enjoyed reading your predictions each week.

Have to agree with the selection of the Bears, seen them on a couple more occasions than the Blues this season and think they might have to much fire power up forward for the pingers to be able to cover. Think they might be ready as a club to have a crack at div 1. Well done to both sides on making the granny. Weather forcast is good, hopefully the beers cold and the games a cracker.

Congratulations to the Lower Plenty FC on an outstanding achievement yesterday in winning the three premierships. For their three teams to win a combined total of 57 games out of 59 is remarkable (although the U19s did have three walkovers) . I recall that Greensborough and Lalor have down the treble in recent seasons in Division 2 but not sure if they also dominated like the Bears did this season, and can't recall in recent times when it was achieved in Division 1. It has certainly given then a good basis for Division 1 in 2012.

And while it is the players on the paddock that are the noticeable ones that win the games, a special shout out to Gary "Rambo" Ramsey on winning his first senior premiership as a coach. No matter how good the players are on the field you still need a good coach to guide them. And to those from the pre-season chatter on this forum, particularly "Pera" and "Reg_Lower91", who bagged Lower and Rambo for the appointment, it's time to eat humble pie!

And finally to the Epping FC for a good season, and if the trend continues, it will probably be your turn next season - as the saying goes "you're got to lose one to win one!"

See you all in 2012.

Watched all three games, very reminiscent of the Boro three flag wins a few years back, Lower won't be back to D2 in a hurry, very impressive, Well done to Gary Ramsay, after a long season at Watsonia to get these Flags is a great acheivement and of course his coaches and assistants and players.

Club is in a far better position than the previous excursion into div 1! Back in 99, not 1 player was from Research, this time 17 of the 22! 15k bonus from major sponsor for the clean sweep with promise of plenty more for next season. Can catergorically state that this time we want to not only be competitive but make an impact. We are all excited and looking forward to the challenge!!
