Game of the week Round 6 Mernda v Epping, Pat Curran plays his 300 A Grade game, A true legend of DVFL / NFL. He also play's his 300 open age game in round one.
And Mernda will kick Epping's ass

If his track record is anything to go by, he'll get suspended in the 3rd round (for sticking up for the young blokes of course), out for 6 weeks, come back, do his back, and miss the remainder of the season.

The NFL ask clubs if they request any special games for the next season EG: Mernda V Epping as Pat has played for both clubs. Sunday game etc.

pretty handy player played a big role and watsonia's defence last year.

This is being changed as apparently Mernda had a bye the previous week
meaning that if he had played every game, then he would fall 1 short,
so this fixture is being redone.

The NFL are hearing the Fitzroy All Stars application on Monday and the submission will be put forward to the NFL clubs by vote.

The draw should be released within a week.

Mernda V Epping next year is going to be bigger then Ben Hur. Biggest game of the year bar finals for SURE. If its PC's 300 game then it will be all the bigger.

For years players have been leaving epping to go play at mernda (at a quick guess 60% of the senior/reserves mernda group have played at epping before) during this time Epping have always slagged off mernda as divvy 2 scum/easy way out/etc so now it will be great to finally get to play against them.

Scum is scum, no matter what Division it is in.

Take the taunts on the chin and outplay them at footy, that will go a long way to ease the pain.

However, some sides (not mentioning any names because there are several in both Divvys) , when the going gets tough they consistently resort to "cheap shot" tactics and behind play antics.

I think you will that some sides think this makes them tough but really just adds to their Ferral Factor and hence why they get coined as scum .

Urple is A.McBrian btw. He'll be able to tell you direct, that he is filling Gibbo's shoes down at Watsy. From all reports, the shoes are a little small for him. Just ask him, he'll tell you.

Of course the shoes will be to small as his feet are smaller then mine. Im pretty sure he has size 9 where I have size 12..

If you are going to have a crack at someone, at least spell the name correctly.

jumped straight into gibbos shoes on wednesday night, having said that, at least gibbo got through the session unscathed, unlike Macca!!!

No use training to hard during December latemail. Especially when the season doesnt begin to late April.

could not agree more, but you must agree the 20 minutes you were on the track had the fans wanting more, not unlike the hysteria that bloke who's returned home from the west who's playing for carlton next year.

yeh i knew about the players leaving from epping to mernda, but if mernda beat epping will it really be a victory considering 60%, as u say, have left epping to mernda? I know what u mean though, it would be great to beat your old club, but as i see it it wouldnt be hard beating epping in my opinion, i could be wrong though..

tommahawk the only chance id have to win it was if i played week in week out on cowards like sharky....
that ex afl player hasnt come through yet mate so best we keep tight about that one, he did say he wants number 30 so should be interesting!!!!

I know of one ex-afl player that will DEFINATELY be at Mernda next year. He is only 26 or 27 too so he is in his prime.

Oh sorry I didn't mean play footy for mernda. He just moved into the area

Richard Cole (ex cwood and essendon) was doing some laps of the ground whilst we were training. I'd like to see him playing divvy 2!

We have had 95% of last years 19s on the track so hopefully they can all stick fat and produce in the seniors. Good news that Luke Shelton and Benny "Space Cowboy" Anderson are hanging around too. If only we can stop our gun FF recruits from breaking bones on their holidays we should be alright.

Richard Cole was an absolute hack AFL footballer in my opinion.
I would think that he would be an ordinary player in the NFL
