We got beaten today by probably the grand finalists. However i was impressed with the way the devils played. What i am mega pi$$ed off with is the bl00dy inconsistency with the umpiring. I know ppl get on here and simply pay out on them week in week out. However I am just simply fed up!!!!!! I watch each week and just get so frustrated and i know all our players are just about at boiling point!!! The bull$hit red cards handed out today simply becasue 2 sides were going about it in a very physical way. And the red cards handed out weren't even consistent.

Macleod 3rd and the other 3 possies to fought out b/w Epp,Wats,Lower,Stars and mernda.

My smokey is mernda, have a good run home and after last week, if they get in they could do anything. Interesting few weeks ahead.

And yes Snorta, Red cards were a joke but umpires were ok because they were consitantly bad.Our boys are contesting it, yours?

I like to thank all the Heidelberg West players & supporters for all coming
into the rooms for a beer after the game and hanging around for while.
Their "crisis" meeting is tomorrow and I've been assured by some of the
players that it's more about the future of the club , not about the current
onfield results. Not so much a crisis, just an action plan in response to
the announcement of D3 for 2009

Good luck to them and hopefully we see positive results for them in the
near future.

Good bunch of blokes and welcome anytime for a yarn.

West do have some ability and they showed this when they held Macleod
to 3 goals in the 2nd quarter and scored 1 for themselves. The problem
was keeping up the application for the rest of the game to minimise the
damage.

Macleod really could have kicked 50+ goals today and
they really should have a mercy rule when teams get 200 points in front

the NFl is supporting St. Mary jnr footy in set up of snr club with U19 in 2009 and snr team by 2011. pity they dont show same support exsisting struggling clubs

few teams might be in a bit of trouble anyway. reservoir had 4 players turn up to training on thursday, not even the coach rolled up.

the league might be better off having a strong with less sides 2nd division, rather than trying to get a 3rd going.

west will not fold. the club just doesnt have the cattle 2 compete at the moment. many things were brought up at the meeting that were interestin like Ressa pushin 2 merge with west & heidelberg wanting to buy them out but both options were knocked on the head. the main problem the club has had is keepin there quality players year in year out. As for div 3 there is no guarantee that they will be any beta but the club is workin on a brighter future. The nfl has informed no matter wat happens div 3 will go ahead wit them or without them. its really good 2 see ppl from other clubs wishin west all the best & i no the committee appreciates it. By the end of september people will see there is still fight in this old dog

Ventured out to see Lower take on Thomastown in the battle of the Bears. It proved to be a very entertaining contest and worthy of the pre match billing that Lower was going to come close. Lower made the most of their chances early on and held a slender lead at quarter time. However, in the second quarter they weren't able to capitalise and were goalless for the term. The 3rd quarter was a real arm wrestle and with less than 2 kicks in it at 3/4 time there was a real game on. However, a 5 goal to 3 finish by Thomastown secured a hard fought victory. Better players for Lower were Andy Knee, Barden and Downey. Whilst for Thomastown, their better players were McDoodle, Spewroski, Manly and Fowlino.
