If the NFL are serious about cleaning up the image of the league, the fitzroy stars runner would at least get the rest of the year off.

It's a joke that the runner was only charged with misconduct (entering a melee), he was the one who turned it into a melee. The umpires were in the area of the incident very quickly. Blind Freddy could have seen that it was more than just entering a melee.

He's a good kid, not to sure what went through his mind at the time. I expected him to get a harsher penalty also. But he didnt didnt through any punches it was more push and shove, lucky the lower plenty players had his arms pinned down because he's a pretty big unit that can do some damage. He appologized to some of those involved in the club and was very sincere...Hopefully in a few weeks time he can be in the jumper and hurting the opposition in a better way (The score board).

hey stars -

you could argue they are the form team of the comp having beaten both macleod and whittelsea
how do you think you will go against them

The boys seems quietly confident that they can get over the line. But im not so confident, they have done extremly well beating some of the better side's in the comp. Its going to be a big test, every week is going to be like a final for us if we are going to make the finals. depending on injuries we should be able to give them a good shake, hopefully we will gain Cooper and Hood this week after both didnt play against Lower Plenty last week which probably could have turned the game around a few goals and gave us the win.

Well went to the game last week and for three qtrs it was a tight battle but the boys in the end kicked away with the win. There must be a media ban put on the players the last couple of weeks as there are no posts from anyone up here {except raav} SUPER coach must have put his foot down lol. Talking about that went for walk around the rooms and if anyone is having trouble sleeping at night get up here to the stats room theres papers and sh.t stuck every where ,i fell asleep and missed the first qtr.Anyway still a few games to go so wont get ahead of oursevles , see what a brillant coach and a few [HALF A SIDE} of handy players can do...... best of luck all teams for the weekend :thumbsu::thumbsu:

Lower had 6 of its best 18 out agaisnt your guys 3 of those which we haven't and don't expect to play all year. You can;t argue injuries could of changed a match as every club has them.

Certainly has been quieter on the forum this week. Time to liven things up.
I am certainly in high spirits following our showing last week. We had billed this game as the typical "8 point" encounter and played like it.
Our first quarter set the tone for the match and, realistically, we should have been up a lot further at the first change. Well done to Watsonia though and I feel they will still be figuring in the finals later in the year.
Don't know the Watsonia players enough to name my best but our better players were Sayers, Porter and, of course, Shawy.

I was just simply stating the facts that if we didnt have those injuries we probably would have won. You could argue if both teams were full strengh then you might come on top, i would dissagree with that.

Your full back could not stop bandera who kicked 7 and would love to see how they would stop McLaughlin and Gill, both kicked 50 goals last year and only played 10 games each. Added to that our best player C.Monger did not play and 2 of our starting three midfielders were injured also. I am not comlpaining just stating the facts, that if we had our best 22 and so did you we would still win.

Please dont tell me your talking about that big bloke in FF who got 6 of his goals from free kicks. Free kicks that were absolutly terrible decisions

Yes i am, the reason your full back gave away those free kicks beacuse he was half his size and to say they were terrible is a joke and totally biased. Your full back was pulling and scragging his jumper every time he went near the ball and i rekon only 3 of his goals came from free kicks.

Not to mention the 2 goals your guys managed to get in the last 1/4 from that blind goal umpire, they were bad decsions.

Anyway we have the 4 points moving on to next week, tips for the round.

Epping
Hursty
Lower
South Morang
Whittlesea
Thomastown
Watsonia

I apologize. I can only comment from what i see and hear. And i obviously missed something while i was doing the time keeper. I just found it hard to see them free kicks given to him even when we gave our taller players a go on him.

can either the lower or stars members tell why the result of the reserves match last week isn't showing on the nfl website? any reason or just the usual nfl glitch and incompetance?

Another plus for the Eagles.

The Rifleman back to Whittlesea. Hope he has a good finish to the season.

May catch up with him again next season.

Marcus is also to annouce he will put his idle time to good use this week by combining Watsonias excellent light setup, one mernda coaching staff member and excessive amounts of bryll cream to effectively blind half the watsonia forward line.

moose you nwould have had it right but i heard from a good source that you wer caught on camera stealing the bryll cream out of milky's bag rumour has it your off to the zoo this weekend and need it to slick down your back hair to pull a date with the local ranga:p

Mernda's captain Marcus Knight will make several announcement's that will stun the comp in this weeks record
Here in a preview are some of the interview

He will announce that luke drakes will be on the next series of " i'm a celebrity get me outta here " as per his call when he lined up in the backhalf last week

Marcus knight last thursday night took a 51% controlling stake in the Mernda football club after winning $23.54 with a pair of nines at the card table

The mernda football club now has 3248 dim sims left over after the incredible eating habits of scotty bamford (sth morang ) failed to materialize last week .
The club will now use said dim sims during $5000 dollar draw replacing ping pong balls.

LLmoose will this week drop himself to the under 19's to regain his fitness because he looked but couldn't find it in the magoos after dropping himself from the ones

marcus knight will quash rumors his hammy will force him into retirement that is until he takes up the lead role in billy elliott when it comes to town
bong pockets it does say it all, didn't they also call you "GOON BAG BILL" your a cat
lots of rumours out of mernda
i think you must be be slipping some of your best gear to the coach in the selection room bonga ;)
i hear the coach Rohan "SHREK" Doherty is going to be on plenty fm footy monday night show should be interesting

also get along to the mernda $5000 draw july 13 tom hafey special guest

I only got to see the second half of the game, as young FS is the time keeper, he would be on the opposite side from the umpires and would have full view of all the push in the backs that super got away with at one end in particular. Agreed Super was just to experienced for our young blokes and was always blind side to the ump’s which is smart play. “Coaching tip” take it as you see it:thumbsu: when you want to push in the back, I would suggest you can use it to your advantage, I would try to give advice and tell the boys at the Stars, as a strategy, the umpire can not call what he can’t see, and that would be the instruction that they would be given, even if the ump’s are front and centre of a contest, and you push your opponent in the back plain and simple the umpire can not award a free if he simply can’t see it although he is right there. Experience/smart players? watch what pattern the ump’s run in when running into any forward line they should run straight to the boundary line, to get a side on view of the play. It’s just like how to cheat the dealer in Black Jack in a way.

Another big week of footy ahead in Divvy 2 and there will be no room for the faint hearted as they say.

Here are my tips:

* Epping by 25 pts
* Hurstbridge by 60 pts
* Macleod by 17 pts
* Sth Morang by 30 pts
* Whittlesea by 72 pts
* Thomastown by 80 pts
* Watsonia by 35 pts

Good luck to all and I am off to have a lazy afternoon in front of the tele with a bowl of nachos!!!

The ghost to scoff a big bowl of nachos with a generous spread of mozarella cheese...hate to share a dunny with you tomorrow..

good luck to all teams except the hill billies from panton:D:D

Good addition for Whittlesea, as is Ewart for Macleod, but I have to say I find it very hard to understand how blokes can commit to a team and then decide half way through a season that they are going to jump ship and play for someone else!!! Why not fcommit to the cause, finish off the season with the side you have decided to play for that year and then weigh up your options at season's end???

I hear the real coach of Mernda is away for a couple of weeks should be interesting to see how the puppet on show go'"s without his mentor go the Big V:confused:
