what happened to Firstdogonthemoon?
Working for the Guardian?

So there I was in the Sofia Reina gallery in Madrid, admiring Guernica by Picasso - what a magnificent piece of art that is. Bloke in front of me turns around and blow me down he’s wearing a bulldogs tee. The better half sort of gasps at this and he asks her if she is a bulldog. I jump in and say no but I am, warm handshakes all round, brief discussion of possible flag contention this year and off we all go with a smile on our faces.

It is so good to be part of the bulldog family.

Reminds me of the time 18 months ago when I was in the NY Met and I came face to face with none other than Luke Beveridge.

The conversation however was not nearly as engaging as the one that you had.

For the culture...

Bored & exploring instagram, come across a photoshopped picture of Lachie Neale & Bont in Carlton jumpers.
Carlton fan page asking on opinions of who they would take if you had the choice, most people say Bont.
One comment lost me though, saying why have Bont when they already have Cripps....

“who is a polished version of Bont”

Saw a Geelong supporter on another post utterly losing his shit when someone pointed out that Dangerfield's never won a flag. Carlton and Geelong are among my least favourite teams purely because of their supporter bases.

Disappointing if he moves on so quickly.
True, but if he's any good you'd expect him to be ambitious. He shouldn't be happy playing second fiddle to Sam Power for more than 2-3 years.
And if he's not any good ... well in that case we wouldn't want him on our staff, would we?
We'd probably want him somewhere else. Like Carlton.

What a gentleman! Murph carrying the ladies chairs

Gentlemen don't wear pink

Traditionally they did.

Are you sure? The only historic or "traditional " fashion reference I can find is to the Pimpernel and he wore scarlett not pink.

Up until the 20s or so, blue was seen as a nice soft colour for girls and pink for boys. It was all marketing.

How good is marketing!

I’ve had this place-mat for a number of years and have not been 100% sure of who the players actually were. I’m thinking Bernie Quinlan may be bottom left and possibly Peter Welsh is top right. Wondering if any of the old timers can help. E565D1EC-2A80-435A-A936-8BB5204C2FC1.jpeg

Robert Groenewegen top left, Terry Wheeler bottom right, perhaps?

Bernie Quinlan and Spider Welsh spot on I would reckon.
