NS is notoriously average (for him) second up and combined with first up, that's 10/14

Third up at 2.40 he's 1/1 and 7/9 overall and generally pays good overs (for him)

I will still take it on but that's me.

I’m looking at Lofty Strike to run a sneaky race/place. 3rd up and blinkers on. Love/hate relationship with the jockey Newitt, but hopefully steaming home.

At this early stage I like:

Aesop - back onto good ground and should relish the large Flemington track
Angry Skies - thought he should have won last up and gets a 2.5kg weight swing on Sandpaper
Lunar Flair - been thrashing all of the locals in this race and hard to know how the international will be on its first up run here
Anamoe - no knocks whatsoever.. maybe Thunderstruck having a kg swing but I'll be taking the quin for these two at a decent amount

Short back up is a positive for mine - but the price is very short - one of only two possible winners for mine but at the prices i have to be with the import this time.

God no. Yes it can win but it’s laughably short. I’ll be playing around it.

It’s been running around in handicaps for 3yos only so this is a fair step in grade and it’s in absolutely horribly at the weights.

In terms of ability it’s 20 pounds inferior to Deauville Legend

Really like Brazen Impact at Rosehill in R2 at $8.50.

Was swarming all over them last start in similar company and never saw daylight and gets a significant jockey change today. If it gets a clear run down the straight it can run straight over the top of them.

Money back 2nd to 5th on SB seems like a moral to at least get your cash back.
