So is anyone going to tell me why Firman from the Cowboys is Whoring himself off, i mean $1500 isn't much when you think about it, 1 bad tackle and he may never walk again.

Also what about the players who have played for nothing over the last couple of years?

Some ppl didn't get payed 1 cent because a team like norths or someone got the chop.

What about players like beaver at Manly who continually takes a pay cut to stay at the 1 team?

you guys are just making things up

is he a Manly Beaver?

I don't get all this Rugby ********...I guess considering there are 10 teams in probably a 2 km radius of each other it doesn't matter. All i hear is...blah blah blah, I'm an NRL fan and it is the ********test sport ever.

It doesn't matter, all that matters is AFL >daylight> NRL
well seeing as this was started by an AFL fan whinging about The NRL i think you shouldnt be complainging about leaguies comming in here supporting their sport...

The Manly Beaver loves his club and does what ever possible to stay at that club, now that is loyalty.

Rugby players only play for money. Thus the lack of emotion.

NRL players on average, earn much less than AFL players. even the highest earning league players, for eg. darren lockyer andandrew johns, would earn as much as a very average/low profile australian football player.

Collingwood board

"McGuire appears on the front cover of this month's issue of glossy gay monthly QMagazine and is quoted as saying he would be "rapt" if Collingwood was the first club to have an openly gay player. "I think, whereas once upon a time this would become a major issue, now it would be, 'Oh yeah? Good. Next'," he said."

rugby league must be doing something right.. the Grand final ratings for Melbourne increased significantly..

http://www.smh.com.au/news/Sport/Grand-final-provides-TV-ratings-boom/2005/10/03/1128191644549.html
500,000 viewers in Melbourne in prime time on the most popular station on a Sunday night is nothing to boast about. Be interesting to see what the other tv stations got.
I notice that over 2 million of the viewers were only in the heartlands of Sydney and Brisbane.
The AFL ratings were spread right across the nation and still will be much more than the RL so as usual real Australian Football has nothing to fear from thugby..

When you say heartlands you do mean all of NSW and QLD...

The Sydney sporting scene is all about bandwagons. If a team is winning there's a buzz but if they're losing, nobody cares.
