I hope the Internet people involved aren't getting too much of the omfnl budget.

On the thread of $, would it be unreasonable to know what $ are spent at aflneb and omfnl. ?
Who gets what for what?
Quite frankly country footy ( and metro) is like the mafia , or Sgt. Schultz.
People get $ and no one knows or is responsible.
A bit like the nevic rail. A rough guess 50 to 100 mill spent in the last 10 yrs. get a bus!
So do park run and garden and spend your $ elsewhere

More to the point, what is each umpire and administrator paid, i know without them we wouldnt have a game but out of curiosity does anyone have a figure and if so are they worth it.. I remember the days when club boundaries got a pie and a softy for putting their hand up for doing the gig. What happened??

Interesting Rory Muggavin got a reprieve on Saturday. He had committed to a Hume league club after being dropped Thursday night- a different one to the club he is playing for next year (Culcairn). be three Hume League clubs in 12 months. Wow. Also Matt Pendergast is finished for the year. Got in the Fire Brigade. Lavington lose Gestier, Dickson and Pendergast- no chance now of making the big dance IMO.
Has Muggavun also played at Albury and Lavington?

Without looking it probably lists "wages and salaries" .
Around clubs it is only rumour and lies , dammed lies and the annual report .Rumour says so and so is on $600 a game. Sponsor giving up hard urned 5 g's chokes on pie and very cheap red. Couldn't think any club would put out an annual report and list all people paid and how much? Might find bar costs v bar returns at non commercial return by a long way?

Q? Given I gather sports clubs are incorporated bodies and there is a corporate responsibility to accurate reporting of income and costs. (This is a requirement and reflects back on treasurer,committee and auditor ) Plus there is a moral responsibility of the club to ALL members to be open and accounted for. If clubs going foward expect punters to put up $ then there needs to be truth in reports. Plus I couldn't imagine anything more that would piss off volunteers. So and so is on $500 and can't get a kick.
Q? Do o&m clubs have paid secretaries? Paid medical?
The next big Q? If salary cap is $160g , this is only player / coach direct pay out. What must a club then turn over to stay afloat? $300g? 18 weeks. Do the maths,not hard.

I think one major problem is there is a great gap between afl and country footy and just paid "appearance money" will not be sustainable at local level.
Annual report to members? Seen only one in the last few years as a member of 3 clubs. Myrtleford . Maybe that is why they are up and about.

Gee what happened to Raiders? Top 3 team well they are fighting for finals. Myrtleford are proving that huge dollars isn't needed. Albury just doing what they need to. Yarra aren't exactly flying either. Lavi are falling apart at the seems. So how good would it be Albury V Saints GF but that would be very one sided. But who else could have a crack against them.
Don't get carried away with Saints just yet. They have beaten Wodonga twice, Wang and Corowa. 4 of their 5 wins have been against the bottom 3 sides. For the comps sake I would love to see them in a Grand Final but they need to beat Rovers, Raiders, Nth Albury who they have lost to already this year.
You will get to see Myrt take care of the first of these teams Fruity. Poor old Rovers might be on the end of 10 goaler down at the McNamara this weekend. Myrt starting to get their best personnel on the park on a more consistant basis and i see them finishing of the season pretty well.

pfft bollocks Macgyver. Who beat Myrt round 2? Rovers thats right. Who lost to myrt back by 10 goals? if you refresh my memory pretty sure it was maggies. If anything it'll be a 4 goal game, Rovers tracking along very nicely considering the personnel they have in
Are you on mushrooms? Anyone who was at the Myrt v Rovers game knows that if Eli didnt break down the rovers were done. Myrt on thier home turf with the line up they will have will put you in your box. Myrt are genuinely good, Rovers will be very lucky to win one of their next four.

dunno if you were watching the bright vs north wang back in round 2 but suit yourself. Rovers be lucky to one of there next 4 rubbish. just another jealous wangaratta magpies doubter if you ask me. You've doubted rovers all year. how have wang gone this year? better then rovers but considering your list should be miles ahead were they are. dunno what league you've been watching past couple of weeks

Im actually suggesting Myrt are better then both Wang and Rovers Maddog.
And we are on here to give our opinions and talk footy. In four weeks and im not right im more then happy to have the piss taken out of me.
And for your info in the last month and abit ive actualy watched all the teams Rovers play in the next four, but apprently my predictions are only based on spite not actually watching afew teams play the game
