Well Played Matt Pendergast!!!
Excellent change of subject to an excellent subject. I could start on the social manners of infants , but!
Looking at m pendergast stats- not too shabby at all. Maybe if a few previous posters were 15 percent as good, no need for the rubbish.
Could be a few significant retirements later in year? Ednie? Porter? Murray? Few at Albury? O'keefe.
One would hope 3 or 4 retire at Albury.

If porter the elder retires, will free up fair bit of wangs $160.k salary cap!
About $10 a game?
It would be interesting to know. Who gets paid what. Especially 1 or 3 key fowards v one another?

The cap is supposed to include players getting paid via third party employers. I have said earlier I do not know how this can be enforced. But as you say the cap will achieve nothing if the current situation with Joss Construction continues.

There is no way you can include a players job we are talking about weekend players not full time footballers i.e. AFL or to a lesser extent Second tier Leagues.
How AFL Vic impose caps when a club or player says their respective jobs have zero impact on their football wage

I agree but in the article I read it said that players had football payments included in their work contracts. I have no idea of course because we aren't privy to private contracts and nor should we be. The only way to investigate it properly would be comparing a footy players work contract with someone else who does the same job to see if the employer is paying them above their real value. It is going to be a shit fight but the league will know they will look like a complete joke if they bring it in and nothing changes.

What has happened to North Abury. In the last few weeks they kicked 3 goals in the second half against Wodonga, 3 for the game against Raiders and only 1 goal in the first half yesterday against Lavi.

“The goal when we recruit is to replace the players we’ve lost with better players,” Akermanis said.

“This is the most talented list we’ve had in my time.

“We’ve got to get them to gel as quickly as possible.”

Yep that's what he said and they haven't gelled is was he over estimating his list ?
Maybe a bit of both

Quite frankly salary caps and the points system a complete waste of time. The only way foward is for clubs to manage their own affairs and avoid "pen&$!" Envy. Don't worry about anything any other club is doing!
Clubs can only work within their own budget. If , for example myrtleford was to get a Couple of Melb QC buy in buffalo river rd and put up a few weeks fees , why should they be restricted by points or salary cap?
Or even if die hard rovers fan won 50 mil on lotto?
The fact that the points system has meant nothing so far !
So work with what you have , and if you get lucky , why should you be restricted?
Look after your own clubs and just be sensible . Not to hard.

Another quote after Saturday's game on the radio was
"This loss doesn't really matter, no one is going to beat Albury anyway"

So what is Aker trying to get out of the season?
I'd be guessing if AFL clubs heard that, they won't come chasing him.

I think North have to take action & look for a new coach, stop the massive turnover of players, get out of the media & get some sort stability back at bunton.
The novelty of aker has worn out

The guy he brought in from the AFL to help them with their defence may be a position that is up for grabs lol! Speaking to a few people yesterday- they said the language and abuse that came out of the box was nothing short of unacceptable. Umpires, opposition and his own players all continuously copped it. That would have something to do with a turnover of players IMO

Could we see joint Coaches at Bunton Park next Season?
Clint Gilson and Dan Leslie come to mind from in house that I'd assume could do the job.

Watched a putrid game of footy today between Raiders and Lavi. Really wish I had've stayed at home despite the panthers winning.
Conditions were ideal but skills and decision making from both teams was poor at best.

Didnt sound to flash on 1566 either!!

I see Aker said he's looking for a 3 year extension and the club is saying it's going through the coaching process right now. Has anyone else heard there may already be a new coach ready to go for 2017.

Absolute cracker of a round this weekend. Hard to pick most results.
Yarrawonga should beat Wodonga but Dogs have a couple on the trot and have their tails up.
Wang Rovers were ordinary last week and have lost 5 out of their last 6 but Nth Albury have been ordinary for a fair while too and have only 1 win from their last 5 games. Rovers have really pushed some of the good sides at times and are on the right track. If Nth lose this I think it could get ugly at Hopper land.
Myrtleford is a really interesting case. Everyone is talking them up because they have won 4 in a row but they have been against the bottom 4 sides. That means they have 5 of the current top 6 to play in the run home. They do play Albury at the absolute perfect time and place though. At home on a cold wet day and I would think in front of a big crowd.
You would think Corowa will struggle against the Raiders. The last 5 games suggest that the kids are starting to tire with some huge margins in all games except for the Dogs.
Lavington against Wang is a huge result. Wang have already played Raiders, Albury and Yarra in this half of the draw. They added some class last week with Newton and Kelly. If they can win this one pencil them in for a spot in the 5 with an easier run home than some of the other contenders.
The race for second is hotting up.

Good analysis Fruity. I still see North just edging Rovers, the other games pretty much sum them selfs up. Obviously wang vs Lavi is the big one this week in terms of who plays finals, could come down to old boxhead Saker vs Newton....

An interesting piece of info came my way tonight, i saw an incident last week (wang v yarra) where motor got a late one in on a young bloke (Melville). At the time i thought it was abit crook but not worth a rant. Turns out Melville has a broken jaw and is out for abit. The tribunal said there was nothing to answer out of it. But the way the AFL system would see it is - off ball - intentional - head high. So 4-6 in gAyFL, but no referral in O&M???
I love hard footy and big hits but a 17 year old with a broken jaw from a league veteran surely thats abit much for no one to raise an eye brow over?
* in my moment of rage when i typed this i mistakenly wrote Motor, the actualy incident involved Barnsey. I had motor on my mind because he also went on a rampage that day.

Melville a gun at more than footy , so very disappointing.
Pretty ordinary by the Yarra bloke.

Can play with the big blokes but cant cop one from a big bloke?? Is this what your saying mcgayver? Was probably going to happen sooner or later, gun young kid half the size of most of the guys on the park. Motor must have picked his time well
