So youve just rattled off 6 of the starting 22
2- Retired from O&M
2- Have travelled for three years and returned to home clubs
2- Mutually parted ways(freeing up 11 PP and a chunk of cap space)
And the other bloke chose to step down a level after a year of carrying injuries.
Hardly a "rats escaping a sinking ship" situation.
Heatley had 6 weeks of recruiting before being announced (with 15 PP and half a salary cap to play with). I am sure there will be a signing or three before Christmas.

Rumour down my way is Will Mitchell who had re-signed with Bairnsdale for next year is now off to Corowa with his dad Barry (a very vocal unofficial assistant coach at Bairnsdale).

Ball magnet inside mid, had plenty of clearances and tackles but I can't say I ever noticed him having a huge impact on games. Like his brother, very reluctant to kick the footy which may be why he didn't stand out from the sideline. Having said that he polled pretty well in league medal, obviously in the umpires faces doing the dirty work.

My type of description. So any pen to paper after said 6 early weeks?

Will rovers recruit any? Won a flag surely blokes would be lining up to have a crack? They won't want to sit stagnant that's for sure.

I doubt wang would appoint heatley without a plan, not going to take on an ovens and Murray gig with no pulling power.

As for albury, a sleeping giant perhaps?
Did enjoy seeing a different top end to the comp, but surely they don't stay down long.

For me, the side that will take the least to jump to finals is myrt, very good back end of the year.

Easily the closest I can remember this league, and how bloody good is it!!
Rovers had 3 talls in the GF which made all the difference but back to one for the upcoming season.

Thomas Baulch cost the Rovers a premiership last year, caused outside ruckus and in-house distractions. Rovers can win three straight plucking from the u/18s. Recruiting is a very delicate process, there’s a lot of moving parts. Can the kid play? Thats only the half of it.

Most clubs have players committing at this time of year, but hold off annoucing them because no one cares about footy in October. I'm sure in good time there will be an article in the Chronicle.

If you were smart with how you use Bigfooty you would know one of the signings, was declared in another forum.

Playing Christie was a gamble, high stakes high reward, he was the difference, Muz absolutely nailed selection. Look at Horse, got it wrong with Reid the other year, wouldn’t risk Mills this year. The coaching game is cut throat.

The son you never had Geoff has turned into the black sheep

A friend of a friend is cutting the game to disc, looking forward to mulling over the game. Steve pioneered snapping the ball around the corner from 15 metres out, could he be to blame for his main men incapable of kicking a straight punt? Food for thought.

Is it true or is that 6 or 7 Grand final Rovers have asked the cricket club to sign them for the summer season.

Commonly known as a Stay on fee rather than a sign on fee

Reigning premiers often become destination hot spots for footballers on the move. If you can’t beat them join them. Blokes like Muller and Thomas Prime often miss their slice of the pie, that’s football.

Bruck United Rovers haven't had anything to do with the footy club since Wendy kicked them out of the club rooms. So that's a strong no mate
Had heard about this. My understanding was that after a couple of visits to the rooms from the local constabulary, as well the pretty ordinary state that the social rooms were left in after a few functions, that the cricket club was politely encouraged to obtain their own liquor license to be in place over the cricket season. I believe they cracked it big time, moving operations into the pavilion on the hill.

I would have thought that as a prominent local hotel/motel owner that Wendy would be well within her rights to try and protect her status as a licensee.
