Well, the Wakeful is on Saturday and is generally a/the main lead-up so....
According to RVL, acceptances to this meet are on Nov. 1st (Monday)

The run of Precious Lorraine against the boys in the Vase was hard to ignore and you'd think that she's right in it if she can reproduce that run. Shamrocker is still my top pick for now though, think she's the one to beat in the Wakeful anyway.

Dilzago is my favourite horse so him :)

Thanks to the herald sun ;)

I was watching a show on sky racing on Saturday morning and they were discussing the oaks and the 'expert' was potting Dilzago saying that he would be "surprised if Dilzago ran a place" in the oaks because of the sectional times coming out of its last race. Intersting ... if I am still alive in the LMS comp I might jump on something else and hope this expert is right

I reckon Dizlago and Yosei are wet trackers and won't win unless it's pouring.

Will be going for something roughish, Sasa might be the one, this weekend I'm hoping/thinking the landscape will totally change.

Will be a Arapaho Miss type year I reckon.

May not change this Saturday with 40-50mm of rain expected!!

My parents have 20% in Alittlebitofmonica who's running in the Wakeful this weekend and if she goes alright, on to the Oaks. Trainer said after the Thousand Guineas that it seemed apparent that she'd copped a mouthful of mud in the run and she was clearly agitated on returning to the yard post race. She was subsequently scoped afterwards and was found to have copped said mouthful so may be best to forgive that last run. Conners reckons she can stay, so hopefully we see a better perfomance Saturday. Has good wet track form and drawn the one. Possibly a couple of lengths off Brazilian Pulse, Shamrocker, etc... although was only .5 length off Secret Admirer @ 1400m two runs back who then when on to win the Flight Stks beating Parables and More Strawberries etc, so the form does tie in ok. Will be over the odds due to last start poor perfomance.

Not expecting her to come out and brain them or anything, just thought I'd share the info I have at hand. Could be a sneaky place chance at about $10.

Fingers crossed.

I know you've said there were excuses but based on last run she'd struggle to stay a night in her stables

They said that about Herculian Prince leading into the Metrop and look what he did to them. Excuses can sometimes be extremely valid...

Let me clarify... I'm not denying she's a talented horse, in fact her effort to split Secret Admirer & Dance Of The ocean at her start prior is very impressive, I just don't think she'll stay.

I've got my doubts also, but I can only relay what he said. However he's not going to say she can't stay but let's push on with an Oaks campaign anyway. I'm not trying to encourage people to back her just sharing the info I have.

Guess we'll find out tomorrow.

as above got money on Brazillian Pulse @ $17, Marasseem @ $71 and Kittens @ $51.

Marasseem was great I thought, ran well, kept finding the line. Brazillian Pulse obviously ran well and Kittens just got buried away behind them, not counting her out.
