If we took Clayton Oliver you never know what would have happened in subsequent draft/trade periods, we may have performed slightly better and not ended up with players we now have eg. McCluggage, J.Berry, Starcevich, Bailey. Could have performed just well enough that Chris Fagan didn't come and we are now a side that just hovers around the 7th to 12th spot on the ladder instead of being a consistent top 4 side.

We need a 2 way running inside mid IMO, Matho is not that unfortunately, he is similar to Lyons but with not as good disposal by foot.,,, I have viewed a lot of reserves footy this season albeit not live and even at that level Matho has not improved his disposal.

Exactly right, add Oliver and we likely don't finish low enough to draft McCluggage or Rayner. Bailey was a result of the Schache trade so he's gone as well, likely to Richmond

Swings & Roundabouts really. Who knows who we could have got at the time when our pick came up.....I'd take Oliver at pick 2 over Schache every time.

“Hello Fages, Tony here. I’ve got a few ideas about team selection. Hello? Hello? Fages? There’s something wrong with the line. Can you hear me? Fages?”

BREAKING - FAGAN TO MISS THIS WEEK AFTER POSITIVE COVID TEST. RYAN LESTER SELECTS SELF AFTER BEING APPOINTED ACTING COACH!

You don't like Chris Fagan as our Senior Coach do you?
I LOVE him. I just want him to be more ruthless with players who display continued poor form at the selection table. I worry that our 1-5 finals win loss ratio under him reflects his lack of ruthlessness in the pursuit of excellence and results in finals. To use an analogy, in terms of horse racing, I’ve always had more wins backing horses in great form who are stepping up in class than I have had backing horses in poor form hoping that they might improve at the top level.

Matho has displayed continued poor/average form each time he has been selected and would have to displace Neale or Lyons. I like Matho and would love to see him in the 1's but it's unlikely

McStay while down recently (probably due to his impending decision) is crucial to our structure

I don’t think anyone would melt it Matho if selected. Would be great to see effort rewarded. I think those expecting him to offer a massive point of difference might need to calm the farm a little.

I’d feel pretty vulnerable if both he and Lyons were in the middle together.
