Two Academy boys who missed out on getting drafted were training with the Swans today: Joe Harrison and Nicholas Andreacchio. I imagine they might get to play with the Academy team as overagers and hopefully also with the VFL team at some stage.

Harrison looked really good in the VFL! He looked to me like a real footballer's footballer. A one-grab, logical-thinking player who did something good whenever he had the ball. Which admittedly wasn't much.

McKirdy article about the documentary series
Totally agree on Harrison. Strangely, he seemed more at home in the VFL competition than the U18 Nationals. Very composed and confident.It might have something to do with being amongst players he knows well. I don't know, but the difference was really noticeable
He definitely earned himself some VFL starts for next year.

Andreacchio was pretty good in the U18 Champs. He is an incredibly good runner with both speed and stamina and he is a good reader of the play. Disposal looks OK too. Glad to see him training with the Swans. He is worthy of being given a chance.

I don't think I saw him. I confess I don't follow the Academy closely and I didn't recognise Harrison and Andreacchio. It was because I didn't recognise them that I asked who they were and that's how I found out. I've googled Podmore Taylor and I see he is (or was) 200 cm so I think I probably would have noticed him if he were there. If I see him another time I'll try and take note.

That's getting serious. Top 40 all time for U18's if my Google skills are accurate. Still only 15, might have recently turned 16. Can do the 400 in under 50 seconds too. What a talent
Nuts not to take a scholarship in the USA and then complete in LA 2028, Brisbane 2032 must be tempting too.

You obviously don't live in Sydney. Roach heaven. You have to have an arsenal of roach weapons deployed already to avoid roach surprise.
I remember moving into a top floor unit in Manly overlooking the harbour. When I opened the door they scurried everywhere to hide. I went to the shops and loaded up on roach baits. I deployed them. A week later. No problem.
A week later I got a knock on the door. It was the lady across the floor. She said to me do you have a coachroach problem. I said not any more. I told her what I had done. She said that they were all at her place now.
