It was also incredibly late. The umpire didn't pay the free kick until after he threw his head back and played for the free kick.
You mean the one where it took him 15 seconds to get off the ground and struggled to compose himself to take the kick? Nah no head contact there. Touhy went for the ball whilst wines went the cheap shot after arriving late.

This is a really hard period for football, as a lot of people are really struggling to enjoy watching games anymore. This is my personal experience and the experience of a lot of people I know.

As a "spectacle" it's becoming incredibly poor because of how amateur the umpiring is in this sport. It's embarrassing.
This. They have ruined the ****ing game.

You're blinded by bias. You really think all these neutrals would be up in arms if the umpires made the correct decisions?

Port got stitched up. As bad as I've seen in an AFL match - even worse than any of the 'free kick hawthorn' games

I was honestly amazed by their composure. How they held it together after the game.
We rarely have great free kick counts, we generally play on the edge so we probably don't let it bother us as much.

The ump was standing on the mark in front of Dixon waving his arm and screaming multiple times. He was warning him.

I think it was correct but anyway I don't think it mattered because it didn't cost them the game.

(a) loose checking on Dangerfield at that stoppage... he had far too much space

(b) not sure who the port player was but he was all over Dangerfield's boot and ankle when he kicked it but somehow managed not to touch the footy... watching the relay I'm not sure how

(c) Gray had a perfect forward's 1v1 chance late and couldn't take the mark - well done to the Cats defender

And let's be real it's a 120 minute game. Port had their chances to win, played well, couldn't snaffle it.

Go watch it again. The ump was looking straight at a Geelong player who started a chain reaction of arm flapping which the Umpire simply jumped in on. I doubt he had any idea whatsoever as to how much time had elapsed.

Peer pressure is a big thing down in Geelong.

Geelong arsed themselves over the line last week against the dogs dog's with bullshit home ground frees and pathetic umpiring decisions. Looks like the trend has continued tonight..

No stress... They will get sorted out in the finals just like last year when then bring out their handbags again

Absolute Arse of a club

Be nice for Robbie Gray to get a free when he's got two hands around his arms, two in his pockets and a guy dry humping his face. At least make an attempt at seeming to be not corrupt

Maybe the fact that he goes to ground like a sack of dirt whenever he isn't going to mark it is something the umpires have noticed. Stevie J has the same issue, doesn't get anything but the clearest frees.
