So that means he doesn't have a front? My favourite was the free kick to Tuohy for "front-on contact" even though he was the one running with the flight of the ball.
It's embarrassing to the AFL that as a neutral supporter, I am extremely frustrated and angry after watching a game of football.
The only team who got those frees deep forward was port who had 3 all twenty metres from goal including one In the last qtr. Menzel and Hawkins constantly man handled all night and only one that was further out and so blantantly obvious it couldn't not be paid. Gray got one he shouldn't have and wasn't given one he should of got. Maybe the umps just got sick of him throwing his hands up crying wolf all the time before the ball even got to the contest. The play on call was fair enough if they had called it the same for the rest of the players. Tuohy took longer.
Geelong threw the ball so many times in the last and not one of them got called, meanwhile Danger gets two HTB decisions his way and the disposal was no different to the 15 others that weren't called.
Then there's Gray getting r*ped in the forward line and the umps not paying it.
AFL is ******.
My favourite one was porkins getting spun around, chucking the ball in the air and the volleyball punching it 3 seconds later
No, it means the Port player who contested it was facing the ball. It's only a free kick if he isn't.So that means he doesn't have a front?
So what is OP banging on about?Never let it be said that umps can't change a result. They certainly did tonight. 30 second call was valid though.
Couldn't watch it to the end with the match fixing umps and the barracking commentators.
Putrid spectacle
The one that got me was Grey nearly holding the mark while being tackled in the marking contest, only for the Geelong player to come in from the front and hold the ball in with his arms around Grey's neck. If that was a midfielder, would get called every time.
You mean the one where it took him 15 seconds to get off the ground and struggled to compose himself to take the kick?
Welcome back BCCats supporter or not. What a fuxking disgrace.
i like how when other teams get a ride which gifts them games, no one really talks about it. but with geelong, people are blowing up.
So you can be smashed front on if you're not facing the ball and its play on?No, it means the Port player who contested it was facing the ball. It's only a free kick if he isn't.
What happens if a player is concussed and doesn't get up in time?So you get 30 seconds from when the mark is paid but if you're unfortunate enough to take a contested mark and take another 10 seconds to get to your feet you're penalised?
Ok.
where was this thread in the troy pannell game
Does anyone honestly believe that if they didnt get a free Bigfooty would go into meltdown. If we reverse the situation in this game, its geelong behind and instead of gray in a one on one, its selwood or dangerfield.
Does anyone honestly believe that in that same situation it would have been a ball up?
You're not getting anywhere with that tonight champ. Captain Courageous was up to his usual best tonight, and his brother decided that throwing a Port player into the fence was a friendly gesture.
He spent the entire last quarter dropping to the ground. Keeping his feet would help him out a lot more.Maybe the fact that he goes to ground like a sack of dirt whenever he isn't going to mark it is something the umpires have noticed. Stevie J has the same issue, doesn't get anything but the clearest frees.
If the player is making a genuine, legal attempt at contesting the ball, then yes.So you can be smashed front on if you're not facing the ball and its play on?
