You just know how the week is going to unfold now. The media will scrutinise the Dixon 30-second call, it will be deemed correct (which it was), and the umpiring department will tick it off as well.

And the dozens of other decisions that went against Port will be forgotten about as per usual.

The clock started 7 second early. Only supposed to start when the player gets up. I believe this has been confirmed

Go ahead. I'm just talking about this incident.

Perhaps we could then talk about encroaching on the protected area if we are getting technical.

Not following a man, well within 5m. What's the rule again ?

Why don't some of you watch the replay. Get out a stopwatch and time 30 seconds. Then you'll see he took longer than 30 seconds. Anyone who doesn't do this is just an uninformed and hasn't even bothered to check the facts.

How is this even being debated when you can look at the replay and time it yourselves....

Just need to clarify when the 30 secs begins is all so it's cleared up for future and not left to hometown scoreboard operators.
I thought the 30 secs started when umpire set the mark so if that's the case he was short hanged about 5 secs...but in saying that it's not like the umpire didn't warn him, you can hear it on the replay, Dixon could have taken a step sooner than he did.

He was lining up a match winning shot FFS. They never call that. Certainly not in that circumstance. Never, ever.

Geelong fans - just admit you got a ridiculous call and you won't look like complete ****. I'm happy to admit we get a good run at home too.
Well you can't really deny it when you haven't lost the free kick count in years lol

I thought the 30 seconds was from when the umpire set the mark, FFS he didn't have 10 seconds from receiving the ball to compose himself
Exactly this

How much time had elapsed while he was on the ground?

Umpire should have called time off, let Dixon get up and compose himself and set the mark and then call time on.

Absolutely pathetic from either the timekeeper or both timekeeper and umpire.

Thought umpires where very average inconsistent all night didn't allow flow the play on decision was a joke and I hate both these sides

Complete bullshit.. Then a player could just lie on the ground after taking a mark tugging himself off to waste as much time as he wants.. **** you people are dumb... The rule is there to prevent time wasting, he was not injured and thus the umpire correctly started the countdown from when he paid the mark. Dixon knew exactly what he was doing and even gave a head nod to the umpire acknowledging the time - he wanted to give it off all along.. Watch the replay

To be fair though, last week it was the Bulldogs whinging that that they only won the free kick count by four, instead of the fellatio they're accustomed to.

Lol Geelong kicked a minimu of 7 goals from awful free kicks last week and probably the same today

Free kicks in the back pocket don't hurt like the obese the cats are getting hit that's ok just means another finals choke ser up for u
