The Dixon decision was not the decider. Port copped a lot of crap decisions in the final 10 minutes. Soft free's to Geelong, non frees to Port. It was like watching the Eagles play at Subi.
Hawkins was called play on halfway through his run up a few years ago. Where was all the outrage about that?

As a neutral watching the game, I don't think Geelong got a rub of the green, they got painted with green, and 3 coats of extra paint just in case.
The umpiring was abysmal, attrocious, terrible and every other expletive you can think of. The umpires had the AFL equivalent of zero touches in a game, if they were my staff, I would have called them in for a conversation to explain and told them if they ever umpire a game like that they can find another job.
This is a case where the Brownlow votes should have gone to the umpires.

Maybe harsh, but why did Dixon take 30 seconds to walk back to the mark - clearly trying to soak up the clock and he got pinged for it.

He certainly plays for them though, he would get a few more frees if he attacked the ball instead of trying to draw a free kick. Such a talented player moreso if he played at the ball

So Dixon wants to chew up as much time as he can, and acknowledges the umpire, and simply doesn't know how much time is on the clock?? He's supposed to be wasting time, he's a specialist Key forward who has been kicking with a 30 sec time clock for goodness knows how long, and apparently he knows exactly what he's doing right up until the point where he simply doesn't know he's run out of time.
And Port fans are unrealistic?

The Dixon call was correct, but they clearly missed two Geelong players that was 5m and not 15m away from him.
