Yes.. Those 3 players really are a 140 point difference..

This weeks tips from everyone?

Saints V Channel.. Saints too strong.. By 50+
DOSA V Richmond..
Hutchins V OHA.. Really don't see OHA doing too much this year and Hutchins got smacked back to reality last week.. Hutchins by 15 though in a tight one..

Saints by 40 after an even first half
Richmond by ten goals
OHA by 20 pts....

After paying $5 to watch such a dismal performance out at richmond i was suprised at the lack of excitment Hutchins showed up with. For the first 30 seconds of the Game hutchins looked on but from then on it was a woful performance. There midfield was killed and it seemed like Richmond had more players on the field. This could however be a great possibility as at the start of the third they did have 19 on and due to lack of skilled umpires they got away with it for 5 minutes before he eventually left the field moments before the umpires finally called a count.
If i were on the Hutchins Bandwagon i would be writing into get that checked out because getting beat by 140 points (where was wilson) i wouldnt be suprised if those cheats werent doing it throughout the whole match, but who would know there is clearly no dignity out at richmond and with the quality of the lights out there players could have been popping up from anywhere.

Was suprised with the number of injuries Hutchins had watching from the side lines would have been a different match with there key players Lister, Dean and Boon back in the side.

What does the fact theyhad 19 on the field have to do with the umpires? Not up to them to call for a count. 1 would say the lack of quality bench coaches for Hutchins would be to blame for that! Hardly fair on the umps that 1 Big G!

For those BigFooty bloggers out there who haven't yet heard, it is with great sadness that I announce the departure of Hamish Kingston, one of the Old Scholars most talented players, from Hutchins. Hamish has accepted a Rookie contract from the Tasmanian Tigers Cricket team, which is a great achievement, however will leave a big hole in the Hutchins forward 50. Hamish has been a great contributor to the club and will be sorely missed by all, especially me as Hamish is my man!!!
I would just like to wish Hamish the best of luck following his cricket dream and in all his future endeavours.
I have not seen young Kingston in action but had agreat year last season with the ball, is he as big as his old man ?

The fact that for 5 minutes the Hutchins side were yelling at the umpires to do a player count and they let the game continue giving richmonds 19th player plenty of time to get off the field. How does that have anything to do with the Hutchins bench coaches what so ever? It is the umpires job to ensure the game is run fairly and all rules are abided by... correct? All im saying is yes Richmond flogged Hutchins but they did it through cheating and bad umpiring all night!

Matt Wilson your a flogger

Ok, I'm gonna have a go at this one. It's not that black and white guys. Rule 5.5 'Counting of Players', in the 'laws of Aust. Rules Football 2010', states that the 'Captain' or 'acting Captain' of a team may at any time during a match request that the field Umpire count the number of Players of the opposing Team who are on the Playing Surface. NOW, Big G states that the 'Hutchins side' were yelling for 5mins is not sufficient. I agree the umpires should 'control' the game however unless the actual request comes directly to the field umpire from the Captain or acting Catain then it's tough to criticise the boys in orange. Page 17 of Law book if you're unsure. Wasn't there but a concern none the less!!!

an umpire backing up another umpire  who would believe that.
nah only joking "PLAY ON"

Anyone have any results for us this week??

DOSA beat Richmond by 1 point.

Barwin went off early for the Blues with what looked like a knee injury, but the Roosters were without Harvey, Penwright and Dooley. Not sure how many Richmond were missing though.

first v second this week, should be a belter at the bike track.
Im going to tip the saints in real close game.I think the twin towers in Burden and Hastie will be the difference.
other match ups look like they could go either way Daft v Britten,Wiggins v Dickson are just a couple that could determine the winner.
Both sides have realy dangerous small forwards Reeve,Sturtzaker and Boxhall can all kick goals for the Blues.Dodge ,Ackerley,Rafferty and Nibbs can all do the same for the Saints.
A lot depends on Barwin playing, I think if he plays and runs through the middle Collis is the man to go with him but if he only plays forward he will cause a major head ache for the saints defenders.

The full back for the Saints(i can never remember his name)plays a really tight game and should come out on top in the Battle with Crossin.
Richmond would be still hurting from last weeks shock loss so i would expect them to come out firing .

Zac Bachelor is the full back for St Virgils. He is a gun. Will eat Crossin for breakfast

That's a huge breakfast!

He only gets a kick cause he plays in a good side, however Richmond are not as good as everyone reckons. They just have a high amount of confidence and belief at the moment. Wait and see when they start losing some games, which they will, In house fighting will start and shit will hit the fan. They are also not very fit and run forward of the footy.

Opposition sides will beat them if they use the footy better and limit turnovers. A one way running side Richmond, However have earned and deserve respect.

Batchelor will play on Burdon.

Richmond have always troubled St Virgils - bit of a bogey side for them.

Think the Saints might have them this time especially if Barwin hurt.

Batchelor on Burdon would be a good contest!

Saints by 35pts

would be a great sight to see two saints players play on each other?

Fair analogy. I'm a Saints supported, so Im of course going to be bias. The saints v Richmond clashes are the ones I look forward to the most. I can tell you, our boys will be chopping at the bit to have another crack at the Blues. Zachy Batchelor is a gun, and having just eaten Joyce for breakfeast last week, I hope he is still hungry!
I hope Barwin does play, I'm pretty sure Saints are close to full strength and It would be good to see the grand final replay at it's fullest potential.
The Daft match up is important, He has destroyed us in the past..

Are Mathew Ferguson and Gill in your best 22?

I went for a look at the game last week against channel and noticed a few saints players still missing. Parker was doing the running and then you had davey and cracknell in the stands watching, not sure if cracknell has played this year or not?

Wouldnt mind seeing Nibbs go with Daft. Both similar types and size.

Sorry there Playwin, ment to say Batchelor will play on crossin..

Also heard a big rumour Barwin is not the only one injured for Richmond this week, upto 6 of their starting 18 may be out..??

To be honest I'm not sure what my top 22 would be. Jason Britton is a pretty fair coach, that rewards people who have done a pre-season and are dedicated to training twice a week. Those two blokes would fall into that category. It's not a bad way of picking teams early in the season. I'm fairly certain it would become more performance based as the season continues.

Yeah, def still a few that could be in the saints senior team. Pat Midson, both Jeremy and Matt Parker, Nick Davey, Matthew Cracknell, Nathan Hartnett. But your never going to get everyone fit at once.

Who do you reckon should be in there in front of them or are you just saying that saints could struggle if they are in the best 22 as they have not played much senior footy in the last few years.

I only asked the question as they have mainly been twos players and to find out if you guys had injuries or players to come back in .Not questioning thier ability.I think that the saints are a very good side.

Okay, My tips for the week (for what they are worth)

Dosa by 5 goals over Hutchins
Uni too good for OHA by 50 pts
Saints over the Blues by 20 pts
