We lost Nick Davis at the end of 2002 after almost stealing a premiership. Was go home factor similar to Henry although I feel that shouldnt affect Henry that much.
But you are generally correct. We havent lost too many we wanted to keep over the last 20 years.

Though Nick Davis wanted to move Interstate and not just 1 Hour Down the Highway

Dad designed the steelwork for the rotating dance floor

We have yet to sprinkle his ashes - but this would be a fine contender

Was there really a rotating dance floor? Always heard about it but never knew if true?

The Frankston Ironman had its own unique challenges. The out and back ride leg was hard as you had to ride 90 kms away before the heartbreak of having to return. Running away from the joint back to Melbourne was easy. With the added frisson of excitement of having to wait until the next day to see whether your bike had been successfully trucked back to Melbourne.

Where has it been mentioned that Ollie may leave?
No media reports??
No, of course not. But this was a month ago... These things take time

Talks are now progressing between the Magpies and Henry's management following an eye-catching patch for the 19-year-old. Henry has kicked 10 goals from the past four games, including four goals in the wet against Fremantle and three in the win over Carlton. The Geelong boy is keen to remain at the AIA Centre and is likely to sign a two-year deal before the end of the season.

There is a lot of sense in your post but there is a case to be made that Geelong is the other club in the AFL he would be interested in playing with. I'll assume no one here knows what Ollie thinks so its all speculation. Dont think it really matters that he says he was happy at the club. I am sure Danger and Cameron were happy also.

Geelong has
1. His brother
2. His family
3. The surfcoast
4. The lifestyle
5. The need for young forwards
6. A history of stability and success

We dont have 1-4 so the aim will be to make sure what we have to offer outweighs what we dont. No real use ignoring it. Geelong will have attractions to Ollie that the other 16 clubs dont. I would think the club will be hyperaware of this
Ollie is not going to Geel to play VFL while Hawkins, Cameron and Rohan are best 22.
If he’s smart he stays to play seniors and boost his value over the next 2 years - playing VFL at Geel is a backward step in that regard.

I just spent 5 minutes boning up on McStay via a 2021 highlight reel. At least 5 of his marks or goals came from McLuggage's work further up field. What a great combination, the essence of both coming and going residing in their respective names.

McStay is 27 and the rumoured deal is for 5 years at $600000 a year. The money doesn't concern me as much as the time span of the contract. He's a solid enough bloke with a decent set of hands. My dislike of his name probably accounts for 30-40% of my reluctance to pick him up as a FA. To be honest, I have never taken much notice of him or Brisbane.

If De Goey leaves as a free agent and the first round pick we gain for him is to be lost by acquiring McStay, I wouldn't be so keen on the big man heading our way.
Sometimes best to keep your private life.....private

Very close to the chicken shop and handy to the railway station

You and Mr Park could make a day of it

We already have! Pre-pandemic we made a day of combining a visit to a couple of Mornington Peninsula wineries, including a winery lunch, then back to the scenic Frankston footy ground to watch our VFL boys. Last time we were sitting very close to Bucks in the picturesque grandstand. Our boys won on both occasions.

On the way out, we drove past the gun shop (very close to the ground) and made a promise to return to stock up on our ammo. In preparation for the day when Essendon supporters are put in charge…

It's not exorbitant. You don't get players from top clubs for nothing. Many critics are simply calling him a spud without any reference to the money.

Imo he doesn't move the needle therefore I'd prefer to develop Henry and Johnson.

Caveat...if they are intending to play him back I may have a different opinion.

I have a brother-in-law from Geelong. My only happy story about the place involved his dad and mates dumping their clothes then jumping in a dam after a boiling hot day classing wool.

One of the mates, Laurie, wasn’t the cleverest and didn’t see the treachery that was about to befall him. Whilst Laurie was swimming the others grabbed all the gear, jumped in the ute and took off.

Laurie chased after them. They kept the car moving whilst offering Laurie two options, get in the tray or walk home alone.

Laurie took the only choice available

They then sped to Ryrie St for a few slow laps with the driver calling out to any laydee he could find to “check out what’s in the back”.

They were happy when they saw me though!

Is Ollie really happy to play VFL until these guys move on - I doubt it.
So I'm not sure he's going anywhere

I'm not sure why you keep pushing this inane position. Geelong forward line, like every other forward line is more than just 3 players. If they can rotate Zach Touhy or Jack Henry or Gryan Miers or Max Holmes or Brad Close through their forward rotation, they can certainly fit in Ollie Henry.

Not to mention that Rohan's 5 goals in 6 games and an average of 7-8 possessions hardly makes him indispensable. He's recently turned 31 and is out of contract. If I was him I'd be really concerned if there will be an extension in his future let alone whether he remains best 22.

Geelong’s an hour down the highway from Melbourne, isn’t it?If Ollie’s homesick for it,he can go down there every day,if he likes. It’s not as if he’s a homesick Western Australian who misses his family in Perth.

Inane?
So now Henry is competing with Tuohy, his brother, Miers, Close, Holmes , Cameron Rohan Stengle and Hawkins.
I think you’ve just made my point that he’ll be stuck in the VFL even stronger.

It's a ridiculous point you're pushing. IMHO he's not going anywhere but he's no more or less likely to play VFL in 2023 at Collingwood than he would be at Geelong should he request a transfer.

You made the point Ollie had far more competition for a spot in the fwd line than I did in my post.
So you are now arguing against yourself, and ridiculing your own logic.

What a joke you are. Desperately clinging to claims Tuohy, Jack Henry, Miers, Close, Holmes, and Rohan add to the list of players who would be ahead of Ollie Henry consigning him to a future in the VFL. No. That was your claim. I listed a group of players Ollie Henry would be well in front of for selection in a forward line at Geelong. He's no more or less likely to be in our VFL side in 2023 with players like Kreuger, Johnson, McStay, and Cameron preferred. He was in our VFL side last week after all and 1/2 those players weren't even available.

That your initial post on this even included Rohan shows exactly how ill informed you are. He's 31, out of contract, and just as likely to be gone by seasons end as retained IMHO. Not even close to being a barrier to Ollie Henry getting senior games at Geelong even if he does get an extension.
