Must admit im struggling to get into tonight. I know at the bounce i'll probably feel a bit more but I genuinely feel at peace with footy and being a bit older winning the flag felt like the happy end to a movie. I feel completely satisfied but also a little less invested. The early start and playing away contributes a bit as well.

Loser mentality
No it's not. It's round 1, theyre a good team and have been brewing all summer with a long list of emotions. They came almighty close to beating us in The Prelim it's a possibility. They could just as easily thump us as we could beat them.

It's footy. It's sport. It happens. No need to to talk shit. No one goes undefeated this isn't some bullshit we did 100 or so years ago whatever the **** it was.

Dinosaur times.

I can understand the sentiment. There's a sense of fulfilment after what we achieved last year.

My biggest motivation as a supporter is to see us win #17 before Carlton and Essendon do.

Just got home from The GC game, settling in with a few beers on the couch to see the boys back for 2024.
Hope they make a statement tonight!

Complacency mate.

A good thing to have. But also bad ( that's why team's struggle to go b2b ) Hard to replicate that hunger after triumphing. We could though. We'll be amongst it come seasons end. Prelim bare minimum.

Given football is considered a winter sport probably a good thing we aren't playing in Melbourne tonight.

Currently 35.8 degrees.

We restart tonight and we know the Orange team will be looking for redemption and to bury us on their own turf. Apart from 4 points, it won’t mean too much for me if they win. It’s a long season. We still have the 2023 Premiership in our holding.

We win, then we’re on the right track.

Wife said she'd watch a bit of the footy with me. Asked if I could curtail the shooting and swearing. I gave a non-committal grunt in reply.

The adjustments one has to make in a marriage never cease. 😄
