Melbourne should be made to be a ****n laughing stock after this. We'd be crucified in the media if we ****ed up a trade this severely

It's pretty interesting. It seems as if he was clearly recruited with the understanding that what has played out would not occur. That’s effectively him acknowledging he’s a VFL player unless Gawn goes down and that he isn’t keen on being a VFL footballer…
Having a presence like that at Collingwood after 10 years of service is one thing, but a guy like that in the mix 3/4 of the way through his 1st season at the club is cancerous.
They thought Gawn was a quality forward. He's not. It's pretty interesting. It seems as if he was clearly recruited with the understanding that what has played out would not occur.
Wtf was their list management thought process!
In an interview, Gawn discussed how he was convinced about the merits of Grundy’s recruitment.Who could have been this coming.. definitely on the dees who convinced him, Gawn convinced him it could work by sharing the ruck.

Hope he goes to the swans and not port or geelongI agree. Interestingly it was just reported on the MMM news update that Grundy has said he’s open to a trade at the end of the year, which is essentially code for he wants out. This is going to be a very interesting watch regardless of what happens.
By the sounds of it he’s not going to want to play second fiddle for two years, and fair enough. He’s got his deficiencies, but at the end of the day he’s a high quality first ruck, and is still extremely capable when working solo, as seen when again went down injured.
the 5 goals Gawn kicked in that final turned out to be fools goldThey thought Gawn was a quality forward. He's not.
I could have told them that for much less than Grundy has cost them. Gawn is not a natural forward at all - so much better behind the ballThey thought Gawn was a quality forward. He's not.
He had an absolute blinder that night kicking goals out of his arse but he was never going to be a forward. Some of the set shots he's missed over the years should attest to thatthe 5 goals Gawn kicked in that final turned out to be fools gold
Which is bizarre, because Max would know better than anyone that a. He is not a quality forward and b. and most importantly, Max would not want to be the forward. They thought Gawn was a quality forward. He's not.
And Grundy is worse as a forward, so the acquisiton was always a strange one.Which is bizarre, because Max would know better than anyone that a. He is not a quality forward and b. and most importantly, Max would not want to be the forward.
No current season stats available
I suspect they've believed it ever since that prelim where he kicked 5.Which is bizarre, because Max would know better than anyone that a. He is not a quality forward and b. and most importantly, Max would not want to be the forward.
They would if they chipped in some extra money.Melbourne fans on their board think they’d get a better pick for him that we got for him.
Those dickheads are fast becoming my most hated supporter group. Every thread on the main board has a token Melbourne flog trollMelbourne fans on their board think they’d get a better pick for him that we got for him.
Yeah there was one guy on the D&T board yesterday trying to convince people his trade value was low because of injury concerns lmao. Yeah, one of the most durable rucks of the last decade finally gets an injury and all of a sudden that tanks his value, definitely not the salary dump thingMelbourne fans on their board think they’d get a better pick for him that we got for him.
Spc workers have done it a couple of times by memory
Are we expected to take Grundy's word for it? It was reported on Footy Classified that we wanted him to stay but to also take a pay cut. Grundy chose not to. You can't prove what Grundy said is true, just likr FC can't prove that it's not.Pretty sure Grundy has said the option of taking a pay cut to stay at Collingwood was never put to him. Feel free to produce otherwise.

He's of weak character if it's true he wants to leave. Are we expected to take Grundy's word for it? It was reported on Footy Classified that we wanted him to stay but to also take a pay cut. Grundy chose not to. You can't prove what Grundy said is true, just likr FC can't prove that it's not.
it will all come to a head because he just doesn't have the talent to be getting paid what he is. Unless he's prepared to bide his time untill Gawn is cookedHe's of weak character if it's true he wants to leave.
It would if we've paid it up front, which is what was reported
Who knows bro but I'm glad he's Melbournes problem nowThere was an article which suggested we'd paid a higher proportion this year leading to reduced commitments for the residual years of the contracts duration.
