I’ve changed my mind about Melbourne v Carlton. The Dees’ week has been so emotional, so draining, they might just find the heart they have otherwise lacked. Then I can sit back and enjoy the Blues’ despair.

But, drained of all effort and energy, Brisbane will pounce on Melbourne in the PF.

So looking forward to the next week.

But Goodwin said back in June that he’s now at a club that really values what he brings to the team. So he must just need another week to work on his forward craft.

Finlayson might have been distracted by his wife's illness. Terrible time for him and his family, and tough treatment by the club. Horrible decision to have to make.

I suppose that could be the case, just curious that he was playing career best form this season, when his wife's prognosis was the same as now. Hard to know what he's going through though

All jokes aside, this evening’s game should be great to watch.

I still don’t really rate Carlton and wouldn’t be surprised if they don’t make finals next year. But, right now, they have momentum and they will be buzzing. If they can keep it going, I think they’ll beat Melbourne.

And then lose by 127 points against Brisbane.

But their forward line is terrible, as are the kicks in to the forward line ( Gawn a major culprit here too).

Given the state of their forward line and the hacks they are bringing in to cover their outs, they could do no worse than get Grundy to ruck and Gawn spend more time forward. Even Grundy kicked three last start in the VFL.

The reason Dees couldnt make Gawn/Grundy combo work is because their coaching (and hence ball movement) is crap

Any of the good coaches could have come up with a way to use them both. They were playing Max too deep forward for starters...

Neither of them were going to play like a crash and bash KPF. Doesnt mean they couldnt have made it work.

Leaving an All Australian, contested ball beast, on the sidelines, in a final, in favour of a small role player is too stupid
