I actually don't think many clubs would have done it with their most important player at that stage of a final. If the AFL really wants it in crucial moments, they need to be the one's watching the footage and making a call for a concussion test. Because Carlton would happily pay a $100,000 fine to have Weitering available for the end of that game and the following week. And Weitering is going to be hell bent on continuing.

coaches often get the sack for not making finals. A lot of the times, I think the whole club is to blame. But in Melbourne's case, I think they could have done much better with a better coach. They have a handful of brilliant players but they dont really play as a team. I'd get rid of goodwin but melbourne obviously cant do that. They're in a weird spot.

Goodwin is like Beveridge, got a flag in unusual circumstances, but has underperformed since.

My only thoughts on this were Gawn was clearly injured, they took a risk to play him and had schache as back up incase McDonald went into ruck if Gawn couldn’t play out the game. But I don’t know

McDonald was useless last week, was useless last night and still didn’t activate the sub.
Hard to decide who went harder to lose the game the Melbourne players in the last few minutes or goody with some of his unusual decisions.

He would not have saved that Oliver goal. We know that for sure. No chance Grundy jumps that high off the ground.

The obvious one is to say Grundy should have played. If weatering doesn't intercept vineys kick it would have been a justified selection. That weatering is a player.

One thing is pretty clear. Voss has learnt from Fly to drill end game scenarios and tactics and Goodwin hasn't.

Blake Acres marks 15 meters out directly in front with around 40 seconds on the clock - and he plays on and kicks the goal.

Collingwood would have taken 30 seconds off the clock before kicking that goal.

This might stir some up but the best result for us is if we play Carlton in the GF. They would be coming off 3 games and to be quite honest, I think we have them covered regardless. We would smash them in the GF, a much more difficult task if we play Brisbane
