I see Port are at the shorter odds — $1.66 vs $2.17. Can’t see it myself. So we wanting port to win tonight? On form GWS are playing better. I’d prob prefer to play current port over current gws
So have they let the Pickett bump on Cripps go through to the keeper?
Both finals games Carlton have been poor in the second half. My guess is that they will be cooked by the time the GF comes around. Still l have nightmares from 1970, 1977 and 1979This might stir some up but the best result for us is if we play Carlton in the GF. They would be coming off 3 games and to be quite honest, I think we have them covered regardless. We would smash them in the GF, a much more difficult task if we play Brisbane
Yes to the first one. The last team to do back to back is Sydney 1986-87.So…. Is back to back straight sets an AFL first since the introduction of the final eight?
EDIT follow up question…. Have we ever had a “ double straight sets” exit with both top four teams going out? GWs a big chance to beat port.
But wouldn't it be nice to cast out our demons in the GF. I haven't had a good night's sleep since 1970.Both finals games Carlton have been poor in the second half. My guess is that they will be cooked by the time the GF comes around. Still l have nightmares from 1970, 1977 and 1979
No hope Chrisso goes hard. Was surprised no mention of anything as yet.You reckon Michael Christian will be feeling charitable towards Melbourne?
Laura Kane is going to have to rein him in for the second week in a row “Michael, I know Kossie committed five citable offences, but how about you just pick the worst one and we focus on that?”
Would prefer the Lions. I could reconcile it in my head if they went on to the flag. I couldn’t with Carlton. My preference will be to play Carlton in the Grand Final. The joy of winning that would supersede the heart ache of losing... It would be indescribable. Beating the Lions would be amazing, but incomparable. Who's with me on this?
I will take my chances and back in the team which has been the best all year.
Lets get over the line in the Prelim first though.
If Carlton manage to beat Brisbane it will be their Grand Final.Would prefer the Lions. I could reconcile it in my head if they went on to the flag. I couldn’t with Carlton.
The temptation of beating Carlton in a GF would be a dream come true, but it comes with too much risk.
GWS for me. They have to travel 3 times by plane just to get in and out of Adelaide atm. Then they have to fly back and forth to play us.So we wanting port to win tonight? On form GWS are playing better. I’d prob prefer to play current port over current gws
Yeh both sides had no idea how to run the clock down, something we do very wellNot really.
Blake Acres marks 15 meters out directly in front with around 40 seconds on the clock - and he plays on and kicks the goal.
Collingwood would have taken 30 seconds off the clock before kicking that goal.
Same goes with Carlton travelling to Brisbane. Not so easy to recover quickly from interstate travel.GWS for me. They have to travel 3 times by plane just to get in and out of Adelaide atm. Then they have to fly back and forth to play us.
I have no fears whatsoever about either side. It's Brisbane that worries meSame goes with Carlton travelling to Brisbane. Not so easy to recover quickly from interstate travel.
Hoping Carlton get up.
The ultimate win would be against them. Retribution
Same mate although being at the MCG I'm confident.I have no fears whatsoever about either side. It's Brisbane that worries me
One thing is pretty clear. Voss has learnt from Fly to drill end game scenarios and tactics and Goodwin hasn't.
Yes Simon, you're dumber than Crazy Vossy.
I tend to agree with this but I’m terrified of the possibility of losing the grand final to carlton of all clubs. This might stir some up but the best result for us is if we play Carlton in the GF. They would be coming off 3 games and to be quite honest, I think we have them covered regardless. We would smash them in the GF, a much more difficult task if we play Brisbane
Current Port for sure over current GWS.So we wanting port to win tonight? On form GWS are playing better. I’d prob prefer to play current port over current gws
Didn't 81 upset you as much? Both finals games Carlton have been poor in the second half. My guess is that they will be cooked by the time the GF comes around. Still l have nightmares from 1970, 1977 and 1979
Those of a certain generation who have bled slowly over multiple grand final losses to Carlton - GF's in which we lead them by 8 goals (halftime), five goals ( halfway through the second term in muddy conditions) and four goals ( late in the third term with rain falling) are very traumatized and the younger generations don't quite understand given they have only seen Carlton as a laughing stock for most of the past two decades.Would prefer the Lions. I could reconcile it in my head if they went on to the flag. I couldn’t with Carlton.

It's happened once in the history of football and that was 2016I tend to agree with this but I’m terrified of the possibility of losing the grand final to carlton of all clubs.
I agree but the 2 loses to Brisbane are still fresh in the mindThose of a certain generation who have bled slowly over multiple grand final losses to Carlton - GF's in which we lead them by 8 goals (halftime), five goals ( halfway through the second term in muddy conditions) and four goals ( late in the third term with rain falling) are very traumatized and the younger generations don't quite understand given they have only seen Carlton as a laughing stock for most of the past two decades.

How about we worry about winning the Prelim first.
