So why aren’t Brisbane undefeated?

We’re only six rounds in. It’s a long season. At this stage all our players will be back in plenty of time for finals with Howe the only unknown. Stop sooking.
How is stating facts sooking? I find the endless dismissal of the value of the players we are missing ridiculous. Winning in spite of missing players is what good teams do. So far we have done that. The Swans were looking red hot a few weeks back. They have been decimated by injuries and were humiliated by Geelong as a result. But I suppose mentioning they are missing their entire key position spine and number one ruckman is just sooking.

I’m not dismissing anybody. Read my post again. Of the players we currently have out injured, the most important “ long term” ones ( and relatively it’s not that long to wait now) are Cameron and Howe. That’s pretty much all I said and you decided to jump off the top rope.

Our depth has come in the nuck of time with all five of our recent experienced recruits getting game time and contributing. As well as second and third year players showing good vfl form. I expect nothing but good performance from this well run club, despite a few injuries, because they are entirely capable of it.

And were winning with no ruckman, which in turn throws our backline all out. Id say we should be extremely positive about whats ahead
Exactly. There is a flow on effect from injuries and that is why the carry on about the Cats massive win over the Swans has me shaking my head. They had midfielders and back flankers playing on Hawkins and Cameron and no talls up forward which means they had to pin point their passes which is far harder to do under pressure and far more tiring as the game wears on.

No. I pointed out that Howe and Cameron were not our only long term injuries.

It’s hard not to find it hilarious that all I’ve heard from Carlton supporters I know for 6 months is “Wait until Walsh comes back”

Bro they’ve now lost their last 2 in a row with him back.

I still think Blues supporters will wind up rueing the day they appointed Voss as coach. He’s not a good coach. Never was. Like, you can visibly see when a team plays with no system.

Carlton has a genuinely good list and it continues to go to waste without a good coach. I suspect that by the time this club realises they haven’t appointed a good coach it’ll be too late.

They’re a Top 6-4 list being coached by a bottom 4 coach.

Skills are terrible and I think it’s because they don’t have a game plan. They have many problems but non existent small forwards is one of them.

We need cox or Cameron. The rest we will get back in plenty of time before the finals, and they are easily covered in the meantime.

It’s your best 30-32 that sets you up for a flag.
Cox is never easily covered. He has been excellent for a long winning stretch and he has been a big part of the success. I will never understand the endless underestimation of his value to our team.

The list profile is like a first time Supercoach player who loads up on 12 guns and then finishes the list with 20 bargain basement spuds

I mean yeah, I literally said they don’t have a system

I can almost hear Vossy saying at quarter time huddles “Alright guys, now, let Cripps get it out and kick it to the big boys down forward”. That’s it.

That’s the plan

From what I can gather, the only thing Voss has actually imparted on this team is teaching them the ability to break a tackle like he had. That’s all.

They’re winning games on pure talent. Of which they have a lot.

People keep saying Carlton have a great list but I don’t agree. They have a really good spine and some very good midfielders but they are lacking out wide everywhere, plus they are slow.

They are top 8 but people are going over the top because of their big guys.

So basically they're terribly coached with a shit list? This is getting better

Absolutely, we need at least one of Cox or Cameron back soon. Cox will hopefully be back soon, which is exactly the point I was making…. Our talls aren’t out for significant periods that will undermine our season. We have the depth to cover, as long as we don’t get further injuries.

Get cox back, Frampton returns to full back, Murphy also returns, and the urgency for howe to return is less pressing.

When Cameron returns then there’s a selection dilemma about playing two rucks, and if so, how to fit Johnson in the 22.

Kreuger can hold the fort in the mcstay role for a month or so. It’s not as if mcstay has set the world on fire so far anyway.

Yes-saying we can cover the outs is very different to saying we only really need Cameron to come back in!
