Ben Reid had a good game tonight.
BT called him Ben Reid twice in quick succession.
Then not much later “Hame” mentioned Melbourne‘s lead being whittled to a point. (Swans were in front by a point).
Then got all excited about the Swans hitting the front after a goal.
At the next centre bounce, it was Swans up by 7.
Hame has been (further?) dumbed down by BT.

Early observation

Montagne saying Richmond on a roll and forget GC and Collingwood this is the team to watch for the 8? WTF

Commentary can’t say a bad thing about the Tigers- new kid does a Ginn drop and not a word mentioned about it

Jacky sookie La La, throws the balls and it’s clever play!

And more stuff I can’t stomach

I can't stomach the umpiring this season. The free to Gibcus was a shocking decision and it is becoming common. Even in slow mo you could not pick up any infringement, yet it might cost Port the game. How can the umpires be at this level and have literally zero feel for the game? The fifty metre penalty which led to the Graham goal was another mind blowing moment. The Port player was ten metres away yet was told he infringed the protected area. The player supposedly infringed had no idea he was there. How can these interpretations be seen by Brad Scott every week and given the tick of approval Our game is becoming farcical. Imagine trying to explain this shit to a person who is new to the game?

I hope the crowds continue to drop as this is the only way the disgraceful new interoperations might be reviewed.

Prob 2 issues here Domus, one is just plain howlers. As you say the Gibcus one could have cost the game, just as the below the knees against Moore almost did cost us the game last week. I come from a view that the objective shoulb be to get every call right. The view that players make errors, umps can as well; or that its an imperfect game etc etc just gives a starting point of acceptance of errors and near enough is good enough. In a highly professional game, it just isnt. Lets take a view that we are helping ups, not bagging them. Easiet approach is to elimate the howlers ( or which there seem to be each match ) with a captains call NRL style. This would have picked up errors V Moore/Ginni and tonight the free to Gibcus.

Re Scott and rules, particularly the protected area in this instance, or the dissent one, I just wonder how they get through any sort of audited/quality process and materialise as the disasters that they are ( or were in the case of the dissent rule )
