At what point do commentators finally realize that instead of saying Richmond should be top 4 with these loses and kiss their butts they are actually an average football side. Freo on toast and beatable, yet couldn’t get it done?

I'm not so sure they were ever on toast. The commentary team kept saying Richmond had the upper hand, etc. but IMO it was an arm wrestle all night. Draw was actually a just result IMO.

Richmond basically played as well as they could have played (outside Reiwoldt who did nothing), had the umps giving them a decent run and Freo basically weren’t interested and they still couldn’t win

They’re just an ordinary side

Hypothetically and it’s a big hypothetical. IF we finished top 4 and we went on and won it all, it would go down as the biggest Steve Bradbury moment of all time...we can dream...

I'm not sure you can Bradbury a whole footy season haha.

Also, a lot of people don't realise Bradbury actually did a Bradbury twice in a row. Once to qualify for the final and then once to win it. It's an outrageously unlikely event, more than people realise I think.

The perfect result for us in the end as our low percentage is now taken out of the equation for these 2 teams at least (assuming we don't ourselves have a drawn game).

A Fremantle win tonight and a Collingwood win Sunday would still see us out of the 4 on percentage. We've now got an opportunity even if it remains a week by proposition to remain or regain a position in the top 4. Destiny is in our own hands now.

A Richmond win tonight and a Collingwood loss Sunday would mean Richmond needed 2 more wins than us across the final 4 rounds to get ahead. Now they need 3 more without us having raised a sweat.

A question on whether Miller was actually injured when Tigers subbed him.

I've always thought that once one team activates their sub, the other team should be able to regardless of injury (maybe within a certain timeframe - can't be an injury in Q1, then opposition activates their sub in Q4). Otherwise, with fresh legs being added, the injury can end up being an advantage.

I purposely avoided listening to the radio on the way home from work in the last quarter to watch the replay

Not a gamblin' man myself but those odds for the Suns look generous. They're a decent chance to beat the Lions, which would be very beneficial to us.

What a remarkable turn of events it would be to suddenly find ourselves top 4!

Go Pies!

Great start to the weekend.

Hardwick is such an engaging coach to watch in the box. He always looks about to burst, with the ups and downs of the game written in his face.

Longmuir, on the other hand, maintains his poker face throughout. No emotion, nothing, barely a raised eyebrow. Frightening level of self control.

Why. we have won eight on the trot including two top four teams, one of them a long road trip.

We lost to Geelong by 13 and Brisbane (also a road trip) by 8 early in the year before we had regained our best form and best players.

If we make top four there’s every chance we can avoid interstate travel in week

We can beat anybody. Geelong slightly ahead of the field at the moment bur they’ve been choking in finals for ten years

If we won the flag ( still unlikely) it would be deserved because of an extended period of high performance.
