By that logic, you would have been against the club picking up Gilham and Guerra, who were both delisted by Port Adelaide a few years ago.

The hallmark of a prudent list manager is being able to sift the nuggets of gold from the detritus thrown out by other clubs.

We were, but he's had some pretty bad recent history with hamstring injury. Not sure we'd risk it.

only ones i can see hawks picking up is daniel currie or maybe sellar for insurance incase a gust and wind comes and baileys knees go again. which is stupid because we shouldnt of got rid of PJ becuase he was that insurance, hawks must have faith that there kids lowden and grimley are devolping nicely enough to be that insurance and if they are i wouldnt mind someone like a maric from melbourne to back cyril up when his not playing coz cyril wont play 22 games in a season coz of his soft tissue damage

Was having a chat with a Hawthorn mate in the other day, dunno if it has already been discussed as I skipped to the last page and only seen a bit at the top, but would any of you be interested in taking Motlop? Him, cyril, and burgoyne would be a good assortment of x-factor players that can play multiple positions, given you could probably pick him up in the draft or pre-season for nothing?

Agreed. If we had filed that paperwork 3 years ago, or whenever it was, he might have played for us by now and been delisted already. At 28 or thereabouts, with a history of injury, he 'aint lobbing at Waverley except to go to the Foodworks.

Just looked through the full list of delisted players and the only 2 I would consider are James Craig and Daniel Currie. I would invite them to pre season and like we did with Wayde Skipper and Dean Putt let them fight out for a rookie spot. Ruck cover is always needed, just in case and both are young enough to have development left in them.

They could come good or they could plod around at BH never be seen and moved on at the end of the year.

Wonaemirri would slot in nicely with Burgoyne Rioli Franklin Roughead & Breust. It's weather or not he is commited 100% to playing footy again. If not he not worth it. Also i hope we can give Carl Peterson another chance, i know he has had trouble in the past but he said it himself he wants another chance. Worth another rookie spot. A talented player who threw it all away.

Peterson walked out on the club, who even sent Leigh Matthews to meet him to discuss the potential consequences of his decision. He's not coming back.

In addition to that, the club kinda needs to send a message to every player. Take your opportunities when you get them.

I saw that Brad Dick was de-listed by the Pies yesterday. I know he has some injury concerns. I would at least look into the extent of his injuries. Has pace and skill to burn. Might be worth a rookie spot.

Was this after Richmond, or Hawthorn?
Because he was all promises when joining Hawthorn, saying that he really appreciated the opportunity to resurrect his chance at AFL level, yet he still couldn't do the right thing.

He hasn't been able to commit to the professional environment of 2 clubs now, even after swearing that he had grown up and wouldn't make the same mistakes, so why would we even contemplate giving him a third chance?
