I’m trying to look for positives here - last year we did very well in JLT. But were seating 0:5 after 5 weeks.

This year we played two pretty good sides and showed some glimpses just not for long enough.

Round 1 is a key. If we can win that and gain some belief - we have reasonable draw early. But if we lose to GC - could struggle to win a game for a while.

Depends if you play one man short again with Ben Jacobs in the 22. Don't think there is a place for just pure taggers in today's Football. Let's look at the last couple of years and the best sides. GWS, Richmond, Sydney, Adelaide and the Bulldogs. None have a pathetically defensive tagger like you do in Jacobs. If they wan't to quieten someone down who have they used ? Gws ... Ward, Coniglio ? Richmond ... Miles, Prestia, Lambert ? Sydney ... Hewett ? Bulldogs ... Picken, Liberatore ? Hardly pure defensive taggers. Going in one man short with Jacobs in the side if he continues the boring completely 100% defensive tag role isn't going to improve your side. If anything it shows a defeated attitude. Basically saying righto, their midfields better.

Did Jacobs have a crack at your missus in the toilets or something?

We have won 22 of the last 32 games he has played.

If we start 0-5 again we need to go all West Ham.

bottom 4, but really so with so many variables could even rise as high as 6th bottom. realistically if this were to happen this would be a pretty high outcome given we were really playing off for the spoon last year. Carlton looked a lot more polished than us in the game against Hawks, i still don’t think GC and BL will come on in leaps and bounds, and possibly Freo will be in the bottom 4 mix.

not sold on stKFC either who could sneak into bottom 4 but they also have the capacity to finish just outside the 8 IMO.

The artice started out pretty well but it fell in a deep hole right here:

Majak Daw and emerging youngsters Sam Durdin, Ben McKay and Daniel Nielson are the logical contenders to fill Thompson's boots,

Do they watch any of our games before they go and write this stuff?

What sort of a role does Kieran Jack play these days?

Its not like Jacobs is getting 0 possessions either, he actually finds the footy going the other way. To say he is purely defensive is incorrect.

You just worry about your mob and getting Kurt Tippett out of retirement so you guys can play one man down for the entire season.

Notice how he is out on the flanks/wing and not in the centre corridoor congestion?

This is where he needs to be.
That happens to be where the contest is though.

I'm aware of that, I am pointing out that is better Luke in more space rather than the conditions in which someone like Cunnington would thrive.
