For whatever reason, Carlton never springs a surprise trade. Generally whenever we are targeting someone, it gets reported straight away.

Crows fans already calling him Podra
Quentin Lynch board.

Hope Scotland retires instead of playing for another year or two like Fletcher, Podsiadly, Brown and Chapman. They only wreck their legacy by playing on and running on fumes. Kernahan was cooked in his last season.

Yep, must go hard at the #1 pick now.

Throw 'em all up for trade and see what happens. I suspect the three that GWS would look at/want are Gibbs, Walker and Yarran.

We have an absolutely non-existant forward line and we must do something about it and whilst I love all three mentioned above, they can all be replaced, albeit painfully.

Time for a big play.

Gibbs + #12 for #1 + a couple of late round picks.

Pick 11 for Thomas
Pick 19 for Franklin.
Pick 23 for losing Colin Sylvia
Pick 25 for losing Nick Dal Santo.
Nothing for Ellis.
Nothing for White.

So Buddy is worth as much as Dal Santo and Sylvia, but less than Dale Thomas.
That says to me that the AFL couldn't be bothered dealing with Eddie McEverywhere's conniption fit.

hahaha.....I thought Kernahan retired too early!! I thought he played a great foil to Whitnall in his last year. Maybe I was so disappointed that I would not see him play anymore that I lost all objectivity?

In any case, I really think that champion players do deserve to choose when they go out. Legacy is one thing but so is unfulfilled ambition. People were calling for Crawford to retire from Hawthorn in 2007.

Also, not sure it really impacts legacy; did Locket really lose much of his legacy through his ill-considered comeback?

Carlton won't receive compensation after losing Eddie Betts, as they gained Dale Thomas. More details on all compensation picks to come.

The one that they would want is Murphy.....I think that might be all they would take from us.

Any thoughts on what we would've gotten for Betts if we didn't pick up Daisy? Would've been worth throwing a crap offer at Pies just to prevent loosing it, or would there be zero chance of them accepting?

Running players are easy as piss to get.

Riddle me this... If they're easy as piss to get then why are we in such short supply of quality ones?

You'd think so wouldn't you? Hawkins with all his back issues is still the preferred option.

Pods is currently 32 and given a 2 year contract
Chapman is 31 and has also been given 2 years even considering his hamstring issues.
Dal Santo is also 30 soon and has been given 3 years. He's the same age as Carrazzo and we're worried that he has another 2 years on his contract.

High risk, high reward and it may work out but I'm happy we're working on youth.

Of the three Dal Santo is the one I'd be most satisfied with. He doesn't need to be the out and out champion that he was to play his role at North. Just needs to provide them some class - their grunt will do the rest for him.

Essendon desperate to win a flag to deflect the public opinion. Personally, I think if they come close it'll make it worse. Perhaps they don't care at this point.

As for Adelaide... That's a weird one. They were struggling this year before Walker's injury. They would have been better off investing that money into a younger player. Instead, they get a player who will serve as protection for Walker whilst he recovers fully from the injury. Problem is he's not a world beater and I feel that they already had players that could do that for Tex. He's just a lovely story hanging on.

why do people think Gibbs will leave? his BF is his captain and i recall hearing him on SEN just a few weeks ago saying how good adelaide was but then turning around and saying he wouldnt live there over melbourne when the hosts interviewing him asked if he would move back there
