fair call but i guess it comes down to opinion, for me Kruezer is the only one with more value than redden who i doubt you will want to part with! but like i said comes down to what side of the fence your on i guess.

It also doesnt take into account robbo is being linked with Port was just putting somthing out there that filed a gew needs in one larger trade. without Sheil/GWS what do you think robbo would cost us in a 2 way deal?

Hard to say, I think we possibly over estimate his worth. Personally if he wanted to leave and we couldn't sway him to stay somewhere around pick 20-30 would be around the mark. What do you think, what players would Port offer?

landing Shiel and Docherty somehow during trade week would make me unbelievably happy!

Although he was a Carlton supporter growing up (and he wears #5 out of love for Chris Judd), he is engaged to Chocco's daughter - so the pull to the Tige's may be too strong.

However, it could go either way (as we saw with Gunston heading to Hawthorn over Essendon).
So Chocco will have 2 players to follow around and stalk next year...:D

Just read 40 + posts of how we can get 3 former top 15 draft pick players for a Half eaten focaccia and pick 12..........

Man you must be fun at parties......

Tbh I just think getting Shiels and Doc would be considered exceptional.

Got two first rounders if Betts leaves and we don't get Thomas, two capable rucks and plenty of steak knives. Robinson seems on the outta so we could use him as well. I think getting Docherty won't be too hard since he is out of contract and he is favoring us. Looking around I haven't seen anything confirming Shiels wants to leave still though. Don't think Adams will choose us since he seems to be swaying between staying or going straight for Richmond.

Is GWS going to become the biggest basket case ever? I am going to spew if I hear someone else say they're going to be unstoppable in 3 or 4 years.

Shiel would be a great get but Adams would be perfect for Carlton. Reading between the lines it looks like Collingwood, Richmond and Hawthorn might be at the front of queue for Adams. Maybe we should begin working on Treloar (for this year or next).

Clubhouse leader is Dramoth's suggestion that Brisbane should downgrade their first round pick whilst losing Staker, Docherty and their second round pick, in order to gain two third rounders and Laidler. :thumbsu:

To be honest as i think about it anyone i would be happy to loose for him would either be paying way over or way under for him! Theres no real like for like as far as worth in my opinion other than say a redden who you wouldnt need! so i guess it would come down to picks! Problem here is our second round pick will probably be used to have a crack at Polec, who will come b4 robbo. maybe we look to trade with another club to bring in a second rounder for robbo

just fo fun bellow is a list of the players i posted earlier in the year as trade bait - as you can see no real straight swap there! - some of the cguys that are close we mayaswell just keep our guy that we know!

Hitchcock, Mitchell, Pfeiffer, Renouf, Stewart (D), Thomas, Young, Stevenson, Stewart (P),O'Shea, Redden, Jonas, Hombsch,Broadbent, Gray, Moore, Pittard,

Given Robbo is one of the very very very few Carlton payers with grunt and balls to get into a contest, am I the only one who thinks letting him go is a bad move?

Don't know Shiels but Adams is hard at it too. This may be strange to say but I reckon Robbo get criminally undervalued here when you consider his actual output. Went against Richmond in a final had 21 touches, 7 clearances and 2 goals but some people here think he is only worth a 2nd rounder. In 2011 he was arguably our BOG too against WC so he is worth more then pick 30 to me.

I see theres a bit of talk here re- robbinson to GWS, i also hear a fair bit of talk over here in SA that his had chats with ken re coming to Port. Interested to know what trade value posters here see him as holding? what would it cost Port in your opinion? Posibly this could be linked in with a 3 way deal with sheil going your way?? ie somthing like

Port send Redden - GWS (helps their ruck issue - young very handy ruckman, behind Lobbe for us now)
Carlton send Robbo - Port
Carlton send 2nd or 3rd rounder to GWS (cant see just Redden getting the job done for Sheil)
GWS send Sheil - Carlton

I think Carlton get the best player from this group by a fair margin, this is why i think it would cost them the pick on top.

Personally i was surprised his see Robinson as trade bait - rate his hard style

Not really designated trade bait but if he were intent of luring a big fish then his name would have to come into consideration. I've bagged him more then anyone but I'm surprised to see Port fans dismiss Robinson in favour of Polec. Robinson if you redid the 2008 draft would be a top 10 pick while Polec in his draft order would be far lower then pick 5.

Could Brock McLean be the experienced player we use as part of a trade with GWS? Good trainer, strong bodied. Would rather keep Robbo personally.

I'd be pretty happy to ship him off.

Could also see the club trading out Lucas if Shiel is on the radar.

Just quietly, do you reckon we got in Shiel's ear? Is a carlton supporter, midfielder and right up our alley. Hasn't nominated anyone yet, but if he just wants to come back to Vic, just when we have big cap space and are having a list cleanout, kinda seems like a perfect fit. Same with Doc

So I assume he would be best 22. We offer him money, big stage and the opportunity to play along his child hood heroes. Haven't heard any official report that he wants to leave aside from Greg Denhan who is unreliable.

HEY!!.....I am fun at parties................

I'm also slightly realistic that GWS want experienced players and not necessarily picks, which stuff up many of the awesome (and I mean that) trade suggestions displayed here.

In the old house party days (I am fun at parties remember) you would try and target a couple of chicks in the hen house instead of trying to lift the entire hen house on your shoulders..........
