if i were the Crows then i'd have give Neil Balme a call and said the job is his if he wants it, he certainly knows how to coach, has never left the system and pretty much had the midas touch for the past decade. Also know's exactly what SA footy is like and how the state works in terms of football culture, The biggest problem would be trying to convince him but there must still be a love for club life because he's never left
Saw the Big fella walking to the Cathedral pub before our home game this yr.
He’s not a head coach anymore, just a master at running a department.
Knowing when to pull it in and go basics then fertile with the creativity when the steam is up.
He’s a great reader about 6 to 8 weeks ahead of the game day.
Loves a roundhouse to win a gf😂💕

Balme is brilliant
He is not leaving Melbourne
Loved listening to him on Trade Radio two days ago
Have a listen to it
I am also a Norwood girl
Still have the History Makers T Shirt from 1984 No way does it fit me now
Just a piece of nostalgia

Why would yze leave hawthorn and his home state to be an assistant coach or head of strategy coach? He already does this where he is now. Hes here for the top job imo.
Why would Nobel leave the crows in his home state to do the same job at a team that is struggling? MONEY!

i got that t shirt too. Wore it to death. That game is etched in memory rather than the 82 one.

Was it money? AFL direction incentive hey.
The Noble factor that he’s not here running the department is compelling.
He wore fantastic threads too.!

I'm not normally an impatient man but I'd like a coaching announcement soon !!!
Why would a reporter say that the new coach had a call on Brouch if the announcement is after trading...
Probably done and the peripheral chairs are being shuffled

Hopefully.

I think the new coach has every right to veto a 5 year deal if he sees fit. I think the fact Yze was here is the most telling point.

Had an association with Balmey thru football while he was here a great person, great to be around a real people person that knows football and works with people well, would be 67 now I think would love to have him at AFC but at this stage of his career never going to happen unfortunately, but wouldn’t have hurt Burton to give him a call a spend some time with him

We haven’t gone down the Hawthorn assistant line before.
It’s been Geelong and West Coast to certain extent.

Yes i agree.
But it would have hurt Burton.
He’d have overqualified his job ten times over.😉

Balme would probably hang up on him
It’s the AFC’s fault for employing such an unqualified fool

Hear the difference

He is a good operator, we just gave him too much to do.
Yet he was unphased.
The directorship was happy to let him go as he was likely to push back more.
Roo’s position seems more shaky than it ever is with the non contact.

Would have drank it dry in the younger years
