He said about a week on Monday. So announcement coming Friday or Monday
No, he said towards the end of next week... mind you Roo had to ask Ditts what day it was lol.

Gather could be wrapped up earlier depending on how the process goes & he was giving worse case scenario.

For me there is a couple of reasons. Are we only going to the draft because we really do want to load up on kids or we have no choice as we don't have our shit together?

Secondly, as I have mentioned a few times already today, if we timing it all so we can release all the info at once and therefore the boys club avoids some scrutiny, then that send a bad message that they have learnt nothing.
Have you seen who is actually available this trade season? It's slim pickings unless your keen on an injury riddled Fantasia.

As far as being concerned about a lack of scrutiny, we are screwed either way. The SA footy media are an extension of the Crows PR department so they will keep protecting the boys club. The Victorian footy media, on the other hand, enjoy watching Adelaide decline so I wouldn't be expecting them to light any fires under the club either.

If roo doesnt pick yze over nicks and burns I''ll take his advice and not follow the afl anymore. We need a coach who has a personality and who is fun. Ive seen the other two talk in pressers. Dull and talk like robots.

Why not just post this in your sig instead of posting the same thing 50 times a day?

Do you think the only trade targets are those discussed in the media?

Would we have had a chance at Francis and Bailey Williams if they knew who our coach was?

Most of us just want a good competent coach I thought.

Looking at his public persona I wouldn't have thought Alistair came across as a personable fun kind of guy?

Probably not. Were we even actually interested in those two players?

If you cant trust a club to choose a coach why would you join them?

As long as they get this right, it doesn't matter how long it takes. Is there really any hurry? We're clearly not chasing anyone, rather draft picks. Do we NEED a coach for that?
Agree and it sounds like we will have one before draft day, so he can still have input into our selections.

Yes, happy with the most talented coach. Either way, it was a strange question in the first place
You have it ass backwards though. To attract talent, we need to select a talented coach and establish a winning culture first. Not sure why your expecting a rookie coach to attract talent. I mean how often does that happen anyway? The last time was Jpod and he was pretty bloody ancient by the time we got him.

The media have no idea about when our interview times etc have been
They're guessing.

I still think the coach has been locked in for a while, we're just sorting out the rest of the box.
Which explains why all candidates have been locked in by their clubs in assistants roles.

I'm very interested to know the makeup of our coaches box. If we ditch Hart for someone like Mark Stone, we are going to have a very inexperienced panel. It's a worry, considering we are going to have a first year coach. Smells like a perfect reason to retain the experience of Mr Camporeale to me :drunk:

Our strategy looks to be to bring in a fresh/younger coach and head to the draft in unison, and build it together. Obviously Hawthorn, but also Bulldogs, have done this successfully. Our issue will be whether the new coach has the right assistants, and whether or not the "Crows culture" sucks him in.

Ugh. I hope not.

All assistants and development coaches have known for about two weeks if they're staying or going FWIW.

How is Mark Stone inexperienced?

I'm not taking anyone as gospel.

Yze was here on Friday and said it was for the coaching job. Do you think that was his first or second interview?

Either way, its take an awfully long time to get around for his first interview, or if its his second, why is Roo still saying a week away?

An answer thats not a cliche would be interesting.
I would guess it was not his first interview.

One of my work colleagues did see him in Adelaide the week before he came to Adelaide last Friday. I posted as such that day.

But apart from that, got no idea how far along the process they are. No one does.

Mark Stone is an experienced assistant. Was in the AFL system from 2002 to 2017, that's far more experience than Camporeale.

Nicks has been an assistant since 2011, Yze since 2012, Kingsley since 2007, McRae since 2006. Sure they might not have AFL head coach experience, but almost no senior coaches do when they are appointed.

And let's be honest, Ben Hart has been in the AFL coaching system since 2008, and he sucks.

The only inexperienced coaches I see us having are Mattner and Godden

I remember years ago flying back from Melbourne, a few Melbourne players were on the same flight, Adem included, remember him applauding when the plane landed safely. Screams fun to me
Didnt he used to catch the Tram to games at the G?
I seem to recall that being spoken about on one if the TV shows back then.

If he is the coach, Marshall better get the tram extensions sorted.

After he gets Port's next major sponsor signed up.....
