GWS played some really good football and made the granny from 6th, very much getting there the hard way and that prelim win against the pies was their GF. They were a young group and probably cooked by the time the GF rolled round and were coming up against a cherry ripe Richmond side. I wouldn't be basing my thoughts on Nicks on the bad years at Port, that's solely on Hinkley and his philosophies, and he is certainly not responsible for the GWS GF loss.

He was there from 2012, and Port have as bad or worse without him there than they were with him there. Hinkley is a chump. Some optimistic Port supporters might have liked to have blamed Nicks, but clearly he wasn't their problem.
