This utter bulls**t...

Fagan and Noble have known each other for over 30 years dating back to their days in the TFL and have been quite close for over 3 decades. Noble was in a big way instrumental in getting Fagan to the Lions whether you want to believe it or not.

It seems your unhealthy hatred of all things David Noble knows no bounds.
You have to ignore the opinions of plodders like 1970Crow on Noble.

Without really knowing anything, they made their mind up about Noble, and now the whole footy industry keeps pointing out they were wrong, they're just doubling down on what they originally thought. They can't look past their existing biases.

We need to look at west coasts pattern in the league. They are the only ones to compare because they aren’t in Victoria.

They make finals and win a flag but once they aren’t in contention, they bottom out and start again. Their board make those decisions with the coaches and come back stronger again.

Our board has never made that decision, we have been good or really mediocre and never brought in elite talent.

The big picture is whoever the new coach is must be all on the same page as the board. Sounds simple but not lately with our board.

There's 18 teams in the competition, all else being equal you should win a premiership every 18 years. Its not equal, but for me, that's needs to be your average, your benchmark. If you're not doing that, some serious questions need to be asked.
...
I think things are a long way away from things being equal that you can throw the 1 premiership every 18 years goal out the window.

Clubs have different drafting, development, coaching and admin personnel with differing abilities, different histories leading up to where things are today, different supporter bases. There are different populations and growth in different states

Then you have the AFL stirring things up with start up clubs with draft concessions although they have tried to even things up with the draft and priority assistance. And some clubs manage to build dynastically strong lists that have a good chance pf winning multiple cups back-to-back.

Footy industry rated Trigg highly too. Everyone is rated highly, right up until the moment they’re canned. Just look at our results under him, it tells the story for you. Bicks is trying to say that Noble was instrumental in getting Fagan to Brisbane. He was appointed a week after Noble, he had very little to do with it, hiring coaches is not a one week job.

Forget about Mitchell. The guy broke his contract with the Eagles to head back to Melbourne, and has openly stated how much he hated coming to Adelaide to play.

He's not moving from Melbourne.

Why do some clowns here want burns as coach? Never won any premierships. Blake caracella won 2. Was an assistant coach at geelong when they won a flag and same thing at richmond. He's the best option by far.

Very rare that happens. I'll take premiership experience as a player and assistant coach over no premiership experience thanks.

Premiership experience as a player has no correlation with being a successful coach.

Lee Tudor's name was bantered around a few years ago for a senior possie. What's up with him these days?
Was similar to when Brian Royal's name kept coming up for every job in the early 2000s, eventually you miss out on so many jobs that you become irrelevant.

Hinkley was on the verge of suffering a similar fate until Port coulf find anyone to coach them so they gave him a lifeline.

So you’re comfortable with the fact that we haven’t won a premiership in 20 years?

Not our fault. Bad luck and the AFL’s our to get us?

Winning a premiership’s not easy, but 1 in 18 years is not an unreasonable expectation as a measuring stick for an average result, certainly if you want to term yourself a “successful” club.

Sando wasnt even bad. He just made some mistakes such as not treating every player equal.

Yeah he was, had one trick, took over a highly drilled yet overwhelmed team, simplified the gameplay to win contested ball and bomb it forward to Tippett and Tex. Players responded well to this. When Tippett left and clubs worked our gameplan out, he had no answer.
