If you don’t consider the trade that netted you your captain a win then I give up.I do it for free, we haven’t won anything for 14 years, this might be the first win we’ve had in that time and it’s only a trade
We’ve literally got Melbourne’s F1 (potentially a top 5 pick) + 28 for 13 on the table. Even if we don’t have Norths F1 that’s an incredible offer.
Look Noble is a decent player and I would want him, but that’s negligence by us if we don’t take that offer if yours is only 13 & 23 for Noble & F1.
We could get Melb F1 + 28 and then offer you 23 for Noble, and we still come out of that way better even if you don’t ask for 23.
And if you want to hold Noble sure that’s fine, but again, we have a potential top 5 pick plus a 2nd rounder on the table for just 13. We have to take that.
If he's going to be a campaigner, we remember that for when they want something from us.
1 Richmond bloke didn't leave the sinking ship?Ralph is loving what happened today.
One can only dreamLipinski!
Nope. Leppa playing it nicely.Sounds like we are prepared to walk away, because we aren't prepared to sell the farm for one player over the future of the club
Incorrect. His manager has stated they never put the price on his head. The Herald Sun made it up.I'm not as convinced cap space is a major issue for them. There's ways of creating cap space.
The main reason they couldn't offload Owies was the price he put on his head.
If Carlton were motivated enough they could re-shop Owies with the caveat of part-paying his salary for a period of time which would still free up cap space for them.
I don't trust that vile, iniquitous horde of sub-human ferals and feel they will push hard again for Houston.
That trade has gone quiet.I hope we are having a chat with Bazlenka on the down low...

It won’t happen, but I’m surprised we haven’t made a play at 6 with Noble and our future 1st. That to me is fair value as is 13 for Rioli. Port get 6 and Richards. Chuck in some pick swaps at the back end and everyone’s happy.Your club has offered pick 6 for Rioli yet are clutching their pearls on 13 for Noble.......In whatever universe Rioli is worth the six, then John is worth a 13.
700-800 is a pretty solid trollIncorrect. His manages has stated they never put the price on his head. The Herald Sun made it up.
Rioli isn’t worth 6 (probably more like 15), we are getting reamed on that deal regardless. We should be able to limit it to just 6 but obviously that’s still too much.Your club has offered pick 6 for Rioli yet are clutching their pearls on 13 for Noble.......In whatever universe Rioli is worth the six, then John is worth a 13.
You know teams have 2 back flanks?Rioli isn’t worth 6 (probably more like 15), we are getting reamed on that deal regardless. We should be able to limit it to just 6 but obviously that’s still too much.
Noble is worth a 29-35 pick, he’d be coming off our bench. And frankly we know we have Rioli coming with that overpay, so if Noble falls through so be it, we’ve just recruited a player in the same position. Especially since we can now get Melbourne’s F1 + 28 for 13.
Yes this will be our ‘doomsday’ scenario. I love the way Leppa is going about it though. Houston will be a Pie.I think we'll definitely get Houston.
The only worry at this stage is getting shafted to a certain extent, and not having any picks left over afterwards.
If that happens, it'll go against what we've been expecting all week. But if you consider the Perryman acquisition without draft picks, it could still be seen as a win.
I think Ed Allan is a priority for us. I think he is one that keeps our list profile balanced. He will hopefully fall into our young top end talent bracket with Nick, Josh, IQ etcIn regards to the cryptic trade from a certain poster here. It screams to me Ed Allan moving back west. Not a beloved player, but most people here would be furious if he was traded for a pick upgrade. Makes more sense than IQ though because he could still go either way, but less sense because he’s a young player we’ve put 2 years development in to and would just be going back to square one in terms of our list profile, so who knows
And we’ve got Powell in our team along with Weller/Flanders. Noble is a good player yes, but he’s not a necessity when we are already recruiting Rioli. You know teams have 2 back flanks?
Did said poster message you with that information? They did say they would message someone about it.In regards to the cryptic trade from a certain poster here. I'm still keen on the Houston & related deals going through; but, also keen to know what else we may be up to besides sideways or backwards tyre kicks for Tomlinson or that St Kilda bloke.
Giddy up Wednesday...
Agree. If Suns break the multi club deal, we'll ask for more than pick 23. I do think Noble's worth 23 and 29, especially with Suns offerring 6+ for Rioli (stupid in my view). If we miss out on 13 and by extension Houston I feel there is every chance we wont be in the mood to hand over a contracted Noble for 23 only (unless we have something else secretly in the works) when Rioli is demanding 6. That forms the only leverage we've got in dealing with GC right now so why not make good on our claim.
I'd be asking for 23 and 29 as a starting point. We settle for 23 and 41 at a minimum. Stuff em!
