Particularly with Tassie about to drain the talent pool.

The draft is equally risky. Freeman Sharen Macrae Reef etc etc etc.

Much better to have a star in hand than pray your draft picks turn out to be half the player Houston is.

We've been studying superdraft history. Traded Richie Cole for Schultz. Turned our backs on picks likely to drift out to Davidson and McGough and have pounced on the golden pick - 58.

Bringing in Perryman and Houston with pretty much no draft hand is absolute gold, and people still whinging about pick 36.

There is also a fair bit to play out for year’s draft, plenty of time for us to do some pick swaps and climb back up the draft order, parting ways with pick 36 isn’t the end of the world.

Gaining a gun 2x all Australian and arguably the best (or equal best) rebounding half back flanker in the competition is awesome for us.

So points are useless
They’ll also move up into the 40s due to the academy selections before all those picks being used up.

So maybe we can get involved there but yes, 2026 onwards concerns me.

Oh well time for hine to spin his magic with late round selections (in what should hopefully be his last draft in charge).

Disappointed we are going to miss out on the whitlock boys, but lets bring 17 to the club.

We can give up a F1 for the best of the Whitlocks in 4 years time.
