Crazy Vossy supporters think they are getting #3 #26 for #12, #14 and Owies.

If West Coast was that desperate to get a pick for Baker surely they go to the Saints for their #8 and a future 1st. They would probably do it for #3 alone imo. Richmond take that future 1st everyday of the week.
Half the Carlton supporters think that because of the points, #12 and #14 is worth more than #3.

I think you might be grasping at straws, Iliro went undrafted in his draft year and maybe that is because of injuries. I think he is a mid season draftee ruckman, not sure it was almost like early access to a high draft pick.

Ok. Fair enough I thought he was due in this draft and we jumped early. Didn’t realise he was 19 already. Still have high hopes for him though.

To be fair, in this deal Port did the least good out of it

The tipping point probably being asked to give up their Future first? Not actually sure why they had to give that up

In the end, they were losing the best player being traded in this period. They were most likely never going to be happy with whatever deal was worked out

But I think giving up a Future 2nd to Gold Coast instead of first would have left them far less frustrated

Question to the draft watchers?

Where would Iliro Smit have fallen in this draft? He looks the goods and we got ahead of the curve in taking him early in this year’s MSD.

His acquisition in June was almost like an early access to a high draft pick we now don’t have. He’s like a new draftee that we’ve been able to have in our system for months already.

We could use the MSD again next year to take a highly touted kid to go along with McGuane. There’s more ways and means to add young talent these days outside the ND.

Exactly why we didn't take Teakle.
Smit is a kid, but he appears to have a very high ceiling.
If he and Steene come on as we hope, our ruck division is set for the next decade at least.
