They're trying to do it as a 3 way deal because they can't balance it as a series of 2 way deals.

you can run it through all the channels you want but in the end it is what you gain and what you lose - if the deal is approached any other way then you are just kidding yourself to justify the way you ended up with the outcome. Our initial request was reported 13 , 23 and 29 for F1 and Noble . Can't see why they would not get 13 and 29 for F1 and Noble when he is contracted . Technically speaking gc still have 6 and 23. They have neither formalised the trade nor have it approved by AFL. They can easily tell Richmond they have to amend their deal to sort out a more complex trade.

I think it's about more than just footy. They are trying to create a second base in Darwin - they're getting a good player who is NT royalty. And not only fans, they'll be trying to make themselves a go home venue for Aboriginal players with NT roots.

They'll throw in more to ensure the deal gets done - it's such a good deal for them.

I'd be happy with Hayes getting a train on spot over the pre season, if his knee and foot are ok and he has some of what he showed back in 2022 before he tore his ACL then he'll be very handy depth for us at worst, with some chance of being better than that.
